Dylan Brown debuted for us at 18, Blaize was in a sg ball grand final then debuted the year along with Ethan Sanders, along with Matthew Arthur although he was still quite raw and for the raiders Ethan Strange debuted the next year after playing U19 state of origin then taking over from Jack Wighton. Lorenzo just went up to Jersey Flegg and killed it in his first game and could be in NSW cup by the end of the year.
We don't have to throw him in right away maybe a few months into the next year if he is receiving the proper development but I just don't think Sandon Smith will be the right choice for us and we can probably use the money elsewhere, it could also make our Juniors coming through like Lorenzo to maybe look elsewhere as they are around over a year for their Nrl Debut.
If we were to sign someone I'd be after Tyran Wishart and if we do maybe try and get him over a year early by transfer fee or player swap as he is on the same money as Galvin at the tigers. If Tyran Wishart does come over we can still put Lorenzo at 6 when he is ready and Tyran can play 9 or else with his versatility.
I feel like missing out on resigning Dylan Brown, then missing out on Lachlan Galvin, now we are after Sandon Smith shows that we are rushing the five eight signing instead of actually seeing the best half to match with Moses. Maybe we should wait till the off season and choose the best option for us long term even if we get them in 2027. I dont know what do you think?

When he plays NRL, I hope it will be the Eels. Fast experiences with our good juniors were not favorable to us.
Look up Lorenzo's insta, the latest video on him. All class, speed, great step, elusive, nice crisp pass.

This video kind of needs ot be a blog so people actually see it I recon. Genuinely look at the attacking ability of him. The speed, footwork, playmaking, strength, etc
I'm thinking the opportunity is Sandon Smith EA, he is a star already. Apparently he only wants a one year contract with a view to see how he likes it, wherever he goes;
My further guess is you would get him on a relatively cheap basis, especially compared to Galvin. The young blokes you are talking about will then have a solid development year and we would be in a luxurious position of seeing how good Sandon Smith is and upgrading his contract to cancel his alternatives.
If he doesn't measure up we have hopefully these young blokes ready to go.
Let's stop and think for a minute, if we lost Moses for 6 weeks plus (history says it would be more than less likely) we are in trouble relying on Hawkins, he is fine to replacehim for a week HIA or Origin etc....but he does not have the class to carry the side for any length of time.....he lacks what we always fail on "speed" Sandon Smith regularly is cracking sides open for the Roosters. If we have him primarily as a 5/8 in the first year, he fits beautifully but in the longer term gives something much more as a class replacement for Moses..
Whether or not my opinion is right or not this is the type of plannng we need to undertake. Roosters are in luxurious situation of letting a top half go, because they have positioned themselves this way.
Guys like Volkman are solid and good backups, but they are not game breakers in spine positions. The young blokes are potential superstars according to the rhetoric here, but that would leave us in a future position of undertaking Rooster type decisions..
Interesting looks good. Put him in cup this year let him become a man! Our new 5/8 let the juniors roll.
I dont get it at one end we are not being pro active enough ...we miss out on ALL big name signings and now we shouldnt rush into signing someone....geez what is it ....
we miss again then for the love of God MON has to f off
Problem with investing too heavily on jnrs is we can't keep them once they develop to quality first grade level.
Other clubs just pick us off one player at a time and then it's back to the drawing board as usual.
We don't have time to constantly be developing we need to buy quality sometimes and I think the spine is an area that we can't hope and pray that some jnr makes it, we need to make these positions a priority and build around them.
Don't let Ethan sanders fool you he ain't ready yet.. blaze is out of sorts at 5/8 chaos and Matt Arthur couldn't make a root in a brothel seen his passing game he flips the ball big average who have been pinched??
That's why you need competence in your R and R committee to identify who you keep. You know your going to lose some along the way but the talent identification then is the key
Development doesn't stop it's a continual journey.
