He probably doesn't have a lot of choice, but if I were him, I'd be going for youth enthusiasm.
I would be defence minded if i was Barret.
Get rid of Lane, he's done nothing this season and has too many mistakes in him.
Doorey is straight into the back row and have Matterson plahing out wide
Sanders back in for Asi and if Gutherson is fit, Blaize goes to the centres. Russell back to the wing for Sivo.
I like these changes mate. I'd also start Hands and play MA off bench
lanes tackle % is 96% defence isnt his issue
When you dont work hard from the inside and not make your assignment who blows past you into space without a finger layed on him it isn't considered a miss tackle.
I think Lane and Lussick will be gone and Sivo will be gone once Gutho comes back
Only three players are safe moving forward, this year and beyond.
Moses , Brown and Hopgood are the players I'd build the club around.
In the meantime the football department and prospective coaches will want to see how a couple of young blokes transition into first grade, wether that happens before we're not a mathematical chance of making the finals will be of utmost interest.
If lanes in first grade I'll be gob smacked, Barrett will want to send a msg no one's safe moving forward and him and Sivo are most likely the casualties.
I hope he makes mass changes in personnel and style of play. Really put his stamp on this team. If he is serious about wanting the Head Coach role this is his audition. If he just rolls out Brad Arthur 2.0 then he'll be looking for a new job in 2025
