Watch the video. The deal is done IMO. The coach guarded and concerned about the timing of the announcement for legal and contractual reasons with the Eels. Not hard to read between the lines. Well that was my take on it.

The NFL's Seattle Seahawks have confirmed their interest in Jarryd Hayne, fuelling speculation that the departed NRL star is bound for the franchise.
Hayne, who visited the Seahawks' facilities during a recent a trip to the United States, announced yesterday that he was quitting the NRL to pursue his 'dream' of playing American football.
While the 26-year-old insisted he would be travelling to the US as a free agent, the Seahawks have increased the likelihood that he'll land in Seattle.
Speaking from America overnight, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll confirmed that they had been closely monitoring Hayne's career and described his potential as promising.
"Our scout Down Under has been on this for some time now," Carroll said.
"He's (Hayne) an incredible athlete and great competitor which is kind of the stuff you kind of like".
Carroll refused to go into specifics surrounding the Australian, but in baulking at questions appeared to indicate that the Seahawks do want to strike a deal with Hayne.

"I don't think I'm able to talk about that, as far as I know. We just want to make sure we don't mess it up. As soon as we're free and I know what the rulings are then I'll give you as scoop on it, ok," he said.
"But it's an exciting thought. An exciting thought.
"I've always thought it would be really cool to recruit down there because there's some great players and some great games.
"It's a very physical, demanding game and those guys have all the same stuff that we're looking for in our guys."
The comments by Carroll come as Hayne's decision continues to send shockwaves through rugby league.
Balmain great Paul Sironen once tried his hand at American football and has warned Hayne that his NFL dream could quickly sour because of the lack of freedom the game's one-dimensional roles will afford him.
Sironen was given a scholarship by the University of Hawaii in 1984, but quickly became frustrated at the sport’s ultra-specific roles and returned to Australia after a year to launch his rugby league career.
The former Kangaroos and Origin great warned that Hayne faced a herculean task to conquer NFL and may find the game too mundane.
"I wouldn’t put anything past Jarryd and I dearly hope he makes it, but he will get a shock at the level of talent over there," Sironen told The Daily Telegraph.
"He is going to miss the NRL because in rugby league, Jarryd gets his hands on the ball regularly.
"Our game is so great because you can excel in many facets. The risk for Jarryd is that he can be bored by being stuck in one box, in the NFL he will be required in one discipline and that’s not making the most of his talent.
"If he ends up succeeding, good luck to him, but he will be a little fish in a massive pond."
Sironen said Hayne will be shocked at the size of the NFL’s biggest players such as St. Louis Rams' 183kg offensive tackle Terrell Brown, who weighs 60kg more than NRL giant Dave Taylor.

"It will be a massive shock, to be going straight into the NFL, it will take him 12 months to learn the game. It’s so intricate and technical," Sironen said.
"There are some huge guys in that game who are big, strong, powerful blokes and if they get a hold of you, look out."
Sironen's warning came as former NFL players Mat McBriar, Colin Scotts and Ben Graham also cautioned about the challenges ahead for the dual Dally M Medallist.
However, former union player Scotts and AFL converts McBriar and Graham believe Hayne has the skills to succeed.
"He’s going against the greatest athletes in the world now," Scotts told Fox Sports. "He’s going to have to become faster, stronger, leaner, he’s going to have to lift his whole athletic ability by 30 per cent."
"But I think it’s awesome. If it doesn’t work out he’ll come back a better athlete and a great rugby league player.
He’s going out of his comfort zone, which I wish more Australians would do and he’s got the balls to go and I’m backing him."
McBriar, who made two Pro-Bowl teams and played 138 NFL games over 10 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers predicts it will be tough for Hayne break into the NFL.
"He is definitely up against the odds," McBriar said. "The competition is really stiff and he is not the only guy who is quick and strong.
"He might have great instincts as a rugby player but that might not carry over to a game he has never played before." Graham, who played for the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals said Hayne had a lot of work ahead.
"There’s no such thing as any easy transition.," Graham said "He’s got a long road ahead but I am fully supportive and admire the decision he’s made."

Hayne best chance at a spot is a punt/kick off returner which will get super boring, super quick especially if he is on the Seahawks. They also have one of the best defences in the league who typically don't let in massive scores.
All the cards are stacked against the dude. If he makes it, he deserves all the praise he will get.
He's signed with the Seahawks and it would have happened more than a few days ago.
If Jarryd goes to the Sea Hawks then the Eels are entitled to compensation.
The Eels paid for Jarryd to go to Seattle to visit their facilities last month. Whilst he was an employee of the Eels and during his time in Seattle it would appear that Hayne and the Sea Hawks sorted out some arrangement re. Jarryd breaking his Eels contract and coming on board in some capacity at the Sea Hawks. He has therefore been induced to break his NRL contract.
I am strongly encouraging the Eels to get on the front foot with this. Make a statement today saying we won't stand in Jarryd's way but if he has been induced to break his contract then we are entitled to compensation. If the Sea Hawks want Hayne, a contracted Eels player then they should pay the Eels for him.
I knew Hayne's line that "I have nothing organised in the US" was all Bullsh!t!!!
eels will do nothing! they are too scared that hayne will never rtn to the club if this venture fails.
hayne is like a god here at the club and he will do whatever he wishes.
any club who signs reece robinson has no idea .
He has been playing the club for a while.
He should have signaled his intentions earlier in the year to give us a chance to replace him.
I really feel like a member of the family had been killed months ago and we only found out about it now. I think the club and the fans deserved better, but hey maybe that's just me.
Lol. one unconfirmed media report which may indicate that the Seahawks have said they were interested in Hayne and the knives come out. Seriously some of you 'fans' are pathetic. You wanted to lynch Hayne when he was here and now you want to lynch him for leaving without knowing the full facts of what has come out.
Frank seriously you're an embarrassment on this site. You may be entitled to make up your own opinion but please stop trying to make up the facts.
Where have I gotten personal with you?
You can believe and say whatever crap you like buddy if it makes your grieving process any easier.
I get it youre hurt so am I. Not for him but for the fans and club. He played us whether you like to believe it or not.
It will sink into that thing you call a brain eventually.
And really, I'm the disgrace to this site? All because I don't toe the proverbial line I'm a disgrace. Called it months ago bud Hayne was only interested in himself and he has proven me and a few others right. HE has done us over and pushed us back as a club a few years but hey if that makes you happy keep the delusional Hayne love going.
IMO Miatch and pure speculation, the deal is done but Jarryd and his manager are legally covering themselves because he should not have been in talks with anyone as a current contracted player and the fact the Eels had even funded his trip there. It also looks and sounds a hell of a lot better when he informed the club of his decision and in a press conference that left the Blue and Gold army shattered.
