So the Eels turned a 6-20 deficit (after 25 mins) against the Broncos, the previous year's (2025) grand final winners, into not only a 22-20 half time lead but a 40-32 win. It was spectacularly dumbfounding to watch.
What Eels comebacks stand out for you? History says two were similar. In 1987 the Eels trailed the Raiders 0-22 at half time and won 30-22, and in 2010 the Eels trailed the Panthers 0-22 after 32 mins and won 34-28.

I remember a couple, Canberra in Sterlo's day, about 30 points behind at half time and another against Manly when they were well ahead and Jarryd Hayne decided to tear them apart in the second half..... apparently Watmough gave a big sledge to Hayne towards the end of the first half about "rocks and diamonds" after the game Watmough said "I should have kept my mouth shut" something inspired him LOL.
Now if Sluggo was here he would be able to tell you dates and places, I can't remember how to spell "Haas" these days and don't mention birthdays LOL...... someone on here will remember!
That Manly match saw Des Hasler rip the door off the changing room.
We are probably recalling the same game at Brooky around about '12-'14. I was there with a mate and his grownup son standing on the hill surrounded by Hostiles.
Come halftime the score was Manly 31 Parra yet to score. Grimm. My mate and son said "catch you next week" and left the ground, leaving me to joust with the "guess what-we hate you to" crowd on my own.
But the experience became more bearable as we started to score andtowards the end our hosts strangely became almost docile. Final score was 31-30 down. Another 4 minutes and we win. However it was a moral victory for us and after the game finished, when teams were shaking hands it was clear the Manly boys were embarrassed, big time. I mentioned it to my mate the following week.
I could be wrong on the stats because it was on the radio as I was driving but I think they said last year the Broncs had only won 5 of their first 13 matches. So people writing us off after round 1 should probably reconsider their previous thoughts and I wouldn't be getting too carried away with our own performance.
Yeah Brisbane usually start the season slowly. I would certainly not be writing them off - they haven't even go to second gear. Contrast that with Melbourne, who always start strong, but I believe they have now lost more grand finals that they have won.
Parra just need to continue to improve each week. That's within our control, and will set us up for greater success eventually.

i only remember this as i had about a dozen pissed kiwis behind me sitting in the corporate area (my regular seat was in front of the corporate area back in the old stadium) and they were giving it to us all game.
Boy did it turn nasty at full time when we won.
Yep, I was with my dad was only like 7 at the time and with about 15 to go, I wasn't feeling 100% and was chilly and dad said "Let's go, no point staying out in cold longer if they aren't going to win and you get sick"
On the walk back to the car you hear people hooting and hollering out of their cars saying we won 😂😂😂
