          • Agree completely with that last Paragraph particularly Coryn.

We were gifted (somehow) the 2 points for last night, but we would have learnt so much more about ourselves and self belief as a result.Β

Apparently Ryles said that Pezet is still a work in progress, so lets assume he is not blind to his deficiences, my dilemma is I want a cover defending lock and also JDB cleaning up the middle, our edges are not cover defenders nor is JDB.....hence my direction towards ????

            • Ryles was asked about what he thought on Pezet's defence and quickly said "we will be working on it" was very straight to the point and gave nothing away. He knew exactly Pezet needs work.

            • The best thing about last night is when the game got tight we were down 28-32 Cronk mentioned it Parra didn't throw the ball around chasing the game we got back in the grind Moses buried them in corners we committed no errors and kept the pressure on completed and the premiers cracked.

That last 15 minutes were the key to this game. Both sides were fatigued as fark and which team showed the most GRIT we did that's a real positive despite the other 60 plus minute track meet.Defensively Parra knuckled down once we got in the grind it took a bit of Walsh brilliance to get them in front. If I'm looking for a positive and we are talking and looking for defensive improvement we kept the premiers to 8 points in the 2nd half when it mattered that's a real positive game on the line and our halves manufactured a W.

After getting bludgeoned last week you take this W and run.We got a murderers row of a draw the first month Storm Broncs away Dragons Riff at hom we come out of this 2-2 3-1 we've set ourselves up for the semis early.

          • Pezet occupied the middle a lot last night and they combined nicely. Still growing pains but they both seem to be on same page in terms of the goal. They haven't gotten in each others way at the moment.

  • In the press conference Ryles did clearly say that Pezet has only had 20 NRL games and that he's a work in progress. He said that the coaching staff and Pezet are fully aware of the areas he needs to work on as are all the players in the team including Moses. So I think they will get better the more games they play. It's strange that knowing Pezet is a work in progress why they didn't just stick with Papali at number 6 as he's also a work in progress and he was starting to get better at number six last year alongside Moses. So why purchase Pezet for 1 year ? That doesn't make sense to me especially given the fact that Papali is here long term. They're really helping Pezet for the Broncos with more game time alongside Moses. Why not give that time to Papali instead unless they have someone else lined up for 2027 alongside Moses

    • Papalii isn't a 6 . I'd say he's earmarked Lorenzo as the 6 going forward and didn't want him going from his first NRL preseason into 27 rounds of NRL.Β
Papalii is a great utility to have in your squad. I see him more as a Diane Laurie type in that he'll do a great job for you every time he gets a chance but struggles to nail down a regular spot.Β

      • Your a wise man for a Snottie LOL

I can see where Mallee is coming from just the same. I thought when Joash played 5/8 last year he did well defensively and his passing and linking was not a problem. The problem with Pezet is his speed in defence, when he played half for Melb where he got some wraps he was in the line next to the ruck and somehow he was covered, I actually thought his front on defence with Storm was pretty good. I never saw much in his long kicking game or attack. Defensively he is now lost!

My guess is that Ryles and his staff have now realised that and will be working on a fix.Β

Lorenzo rhetorically seems to be aimed at the 6 next year and he is yet to prove he is going to be better than Joash, after the first 25 minutes last night I reckon Pezet was out of the team....subsequences now have a different presentation but I would be brave enough to eventually have Pezet as a permanent 19 just to replace an injured or rep Moses. Unless he proves he is a match winner, which leaves another issue that I can only imagine will be torn apart by this site when we lose him!

  • How good is it not having Penisini in the lineup - Samrani does the job and at least he defends

    • Mate if pensini was playing we would have 20 more errors and 50 more miss tackles.

    • they didnt attack his side and i dont think he is a great defender. he was caught out alot last yr

"I was at that game, too haha. Insane comeback. I had hopes we'd do the same as Penrith did to the Wests Tigers in 2003, when they came from 31-8 down with about 13 minutes to go and won.Β "

"The greatest comeback that never was, was a game against the Tigers where we were trailing 31-0 with 13 minutes to go and the score ended up 31-30. 2012 round 8."
