Credit to the bench

The bench won us the game tonight

Tuivaiti, Doorey, Walker and TDS, all incredible tonight

We need to have serious talks on benching Paulo

TDS finally a good game!

  • Paulo and JDB are big concerns as starting forward. Both are too old and slow to be starting against elite and athletic forwards. JR but all the experience forwards back on the field to finish game but then you could see our attack suffer. JDB and Paulo slowed down our ruck speed with the ball completely. Tuivita, Doorey and Walker changed the game with their ruck speed. Time to get Moretti back into the team

    • Yeah Id keep Paulo just for the rotation with Sam and Paulo in his second shift lifted. JDB though isnt offering much. Walker should be there instead.

      • Starting Walker takes away what makes him dangerous.  He changes the tempo when he comes on.  Starting him against fresh attackers takes all that away.

        • Spot on Manuel, your observations are very asute.

The people that don't like Junior and JDB starting  don't seem to realise that is the best way to start the game and then up the tempo is a lot more effective......sides starting well can lose the effect very quickly by acclimatising the opposition to a pace they cannot maintain.......what do you think happened to Brisbane last night, not to mention the momentum swing when Haas went off!

    • I feel JDB needs to start, towards the end when JBD came back on our defence felt more a bit clean through the middle.

      • De Belin looked way better in his 2nd stint. But his sole purpose is defence, in that portion of the game where Brisbane middles tried to wrestle back momentum in the middle he was solid in defence.

        • Yes, it's called experience LB....nothing wrong with the first stint, the pace was hot.

          • His first stint was not good Poppa but he has to start. He is not an impact player.

Experience isn't always everything, look at yourself with some of your calls. Experience would say you don't abuse Ryles 6 games into his tenure and say he should be sacked and then delete it then call out others who do the same as you are older and wise.

  • TDS was really good, but so was Riley.

    • Riley was back to his best. Fighting for everything. Changing Staggs etc

But did anyone hear the arrogance of Chammas saying clubs shouldn't complain as PNG being successful is good for the game. Absolute smugness."
