Pirtek Parramatta Eels hope to welcome back Origin stars for Dragons clash

The Pirtek Parramatta Eels will welcome back their State of Origin stars for the Round 12 game against the St George Illawarra Dragons, if fit, this Friday night.

Eels staff will assess the fitness of Jarryd Hayne and Timana Tahu following Wednesday night’s Origin game, with Krisnan Inu selected on an extended bench to step in for either player.

The inclusion of Hayne and Tahu are the only changes to the side this week, with Inu back to the bench and Tom Humble making way for Hayne.

The Eels travel to WIN Jubilee Oval, Kogarah, for a crucial clash against the table-topping Dragons in a blockbuster this Friday night.

  • I like that Anderson prefers Grothe to Inu because I do to. He fits the backline puzzle at parra better with his aggressive kick returns even though Inu has a lot more subtlety to his game,

I also heard that Grothe is close to re - signing.
    • Completely disagree. I prefer Inu on the wing rather than Grothe. I feel Guru is a weak link in defence when he comes in from the wing far too often and is beaten by the opposition winger.

      STAY ON YOUR WING GROTHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd also drop Matt Keating for Tom Humble.
  • when Grothe is fully fit he gives us so much coming off our own line.....Inu isnt playing with a lot of confidence at the moment
    • Dragons score a lot of their points out wide, Grothe will have his hands full containing the Dragons wingers.
  • Dude there is a lot more to defending on the wing than just staying on the outside, although it is a good general principle. there are occasions where you have to come in because otherwise there will be a simple draw and pass or if your centre partner has only made a weak legs tackle and the opposition player can easily reach out an put it down if you don't put a shot on up top,

Look at Hayne tonight, he was copping the blame for the tries on his outside but if you look at the replay he was forced into a decision by the poor play of Idirs on his inside.
    • A lot of Grothes problems come from the man inside him if you think back to when Ben Smith defended inside him he nether had the problems he does now when Reddy and Inu are inside him.
  • Both are weak and so is Reddy unfortaunately. His D is down a lot on last year when it should be getting better
