Spagnolo launches another campaign to undermine the club

Returning like the bad smell he is, Roy Spagnolo is once again attempting to undermine the club.

His latest attempt involves 4 Special Resolutions tabled at the upcoming AGM to undo many of the positive governance changes resulting from the ILGA investigation.

If it were up to Roy, online voting would be removed, disenfranchising thousands of eligible members, while strong board member governance requirements would be loosened.

Once again, the fate of the club is left to the voting members to decide.

The AGM is open now to have your say.

The board has tabled its position on the matter. It vehemently opposes the Special Resolutions.

If you are an eligible voting member of the Parramatta Leagues Club, you can vote now. An invitation should be in your emails.

Full AGM details are available here: https://www.parraleagues.com.au/agm2026/

Vote NO to the 4 Special Resolutions and help to protect the club from this small cabal of members who would prefer they reign over the ashes of a fiefdom, rather than the long term benefits a strong Leagues Club provides.

    • A good and healthy club constitution allows all members (even stupid ones) to have a voice and a pathway to challenge the status quo.

Ironically these freedoms of good governance are what Spags wants to remove so he can more easily get control and keep control without needing proper club governance because he knows he could never survive that scrutiny.

  • Roy is really trying to fill up his Wikipedia page with failure at a rapid rate.

Just in case anyone ever considers anything that Spags says, just remember this is a man who has had:

    • 30 instances of alleged financial misconduct during his time at the Eels
    • Police investigation in 2009 over threats to Fitzy
    • ATO investigation due to failed company debts of over $1m owing to the tax office
    • Auditor suspension in 2023 by the Companies Auditor Disciplinary Board due to failure to comply with standards

This absolute failure of a businessman has made a career out of bad decisions and blaming those around him whilst he continues to make more bad decisions. And don't take my word for it - do your own research. It's all well documented and easily Googlable.

If you ever, ever find yourself agreeing with anything this guy says...you need help.

Based on his history the best bet is to always do the opposite of what Spags says. So if he backs these proposals, the best bet is to vote them down.

Vote No if you want to reject this proven failure. It feels funny that I even have to write this given how obvious it is that Spags is bad at everything he does.

He should go to the Tigers, he'd fit right in to their culture of backroom chaos, inexperience and failure.

    • This reminds me of someone else ...

      • Bigly

      • Even the Oompa Loompas were complicit in Willy Wonka's dark sh*t, and that's before we get to truly evil orange motherf***ers

  • I have not received my electronic voting link as of Saturday morning

    • Suggest you contact club membership to ensure they have your correct details.

  • This Roy move is more poorly thought out than Operation Barbarossa.

The Constitution safeguards against worst-case scenarios, including a Roy-type who spends 21 years signing up every Tom, Dick, and Harry, and the neighbourhood dog to his cause.

It's a pity, and lost opportunity, he doesn't use his time and wealth to help the club rather than fight it.
