If we grab Gagz I guess we will be letting Penisini and his brother go. Which I don't mind.
The only fully fledged star Backrower that's somewhat available or atleast from an outsiders perspective, moveable, would be David Fifita.
There's a good chunk of good players at backrow though, Hayes, Wong, Bullemor, Blore, and the player is most likely to see back in our colours MARATA NIUKORE.
Pretty sure Niukore went to NZ for family support for his wife. Doubt that would have changed as she had her colon removed or something. So doubt we see him back unless circumstances have changed.
Niukore would love back but he left to be with family. Plus is on good money. Wong and Hayes are realistic and would be nice pick-ups.
If we get Gagai i reckon it is the Centre next to JAC. We wont be letting go Penisini brothers, not for next year anyway.
They're not letting the Penisini brothers go ahaha
That's what I said.
They won't be letting the Penis Bros go , LB....
Dogs won't let Hayes go. If they need to shed players Curran, salmon or even mann may go with latu to be in their 17 next year with leo thompson
Feel Gagai would be a really smart signing. Our centres haven't had a genuine experienced centre to learn from in their time at the Eels. Our last actual centre was Michael Jennings (and Opacic, but he was in and out of first grade).
Maybe that has impacted Penisini's development... Him, Russell & Simo, would obviously learn a lot from Gagai (especially defensively)... And he is currently playing fullback at the Knights, and is still playing very well.
Don't think we'd be letting either Penisini go, as Gagai has probably 1-2 years left?! But, like JDB for our forwards, it might be more a stretegy move to help our younger players through.
Does anyone have a link to Adrian's report? I can't seem to find anything anywhere.
Interesting if we are looking at Gagai; think we should leave as is tbh; Simmo / Penis and Russell; and does he offer any speed?
To me we need a couple NRL / bench type forwards to compliment what we have around Hopgood / Paulo / Williams.
On Russell, he has shown more promise under Ryles than he did last season and before; give him another 12 months as centre and he could be better; he is strong and has some pace; and has outplayed Penisini
