Junior Paulo is the one holding a deal for Bailey Simonsson at Parramtta from being complete. Paulo was tabled an offer but has yet to agree to it, however if he is to ask for more cash then we may not have enough cap room this year to be able to bring Simonsson in.

So Reed Mahoney's deal can't be ratified until Nik Cotric is released to the Raiders, who can't be released to the Raiders until the Raiders & Dogs agree how much the Digs will pay of his salary, which means Bailey Simmonsen's proposed move to the Eels to replace Blake Ferguson can't be ratified until Junior Paulo tells the Eels what he's doing.
Have I got this right ?
Of course there's absolutely no coincidence that all the above players are managed by Sam Ayoub.
Sarcasm noted, but it's a conspiracy theory that has legs I reckon
It ain't just Ayoub and the Eels, it's Ayoub and everyone he deals with. The guy is a dropkick who's business model operates solely on the weight that he has a lot of players on his books so he can push his weight around.
If we grew some balls as a club and just said blanket "we refuse to deal with your agency because your media tactics bring unwanted negative attention to our club and damage our brand" we'd be better off in the long run.
It means these players are off the cards for us:

If they want to stay with the Eels or be a future option for the Eels they either need to change their agent/management company or demand that their management company operate with appropriate NDAs and anti-leaking clauses with significant financial penalties in place.
Right now we're letting this moron toy with us and yet we can easily disempower him by simply refusing to work with him. Let's reward agencies who are happy to work respectfully and behind closed doors.
Absolutely agree that moving forward we should avoid him like the plague but in the case of players already signed , we put up with it. Natural attrition will take care of it and ensure that we have no more dealings with the slimeball.
Yeah I don't think that's the answer, avoiding one particular manager won't work, and you can bet he'll spread all sorts of lies and half truths around the club if we blackballed him.
We just have to get better at dealing with him, he's not going away.
Sadly, that's 100% accurate.
Hmm I thought that was exactly the stance being taken by the Storm ? I'm sure I read that the Storm would not work with Sam or his company under any circumstances.
we shouldn't be afraid of blackballing an agent.
It shows we have morals and are willing to make a stand for a particular standard. AND we should proclaim our stance loud and clear.
It would be an excellent PR exercise for us. Let him screw over the other clubs. My guess is that other clubs will join in to improve the standard and Sam will cop some serious heat from players who have their options well and truly reduced. We wouldn't be the only club that has been bent over by Slimey Sam.
The Storm are one of the teams that have zero players on Ayoubs books. It doesn't seem to have slowed them down.
If players are holding the club to ransom we're doing it wrong. We should be dictating terms. There are a limited number of clubs all of who are cap constrained, there are an almost unlimited number of players.
Supply vs demand says we should be on top. Ayoub is forming a union of players and upping their bargaining power. I hate to get all capitalist here, but crush them. We let Ayoub survive by enabling his business, we can simply choose to stop - it won't impact our success, we just have to grow a pair.
That approach only holds value if you view every player as more or less interchangeable with negligible difference in results, which clearly isn't the case. Player have most, not all, but most of the leverage. There are unlimited players yes, but a very limited number of players who are difference makers. In that particular market, demand far exceeds supply.
There's only one James Tedesco. but evey team wants one of him.
Demand = 16, supply = 1.
Now yes, Teddy is the nth degree example, but the point is valid nevertheless.
Ok I knew a club had done it, I just couldn't remember who they were, well done Storm!
