He has had a second meeting with the eels!!
Ryles clearly thinks it's all the back's fault and not the forwards.
Straight out
Can he play Hooker or wing as that's what we desperately need.
He will be a back-up 5/8 which is what we desparately need. If Brown goes down which is a high chance given his ACL, we have no one. Volkman is one of the best halves in NSW cup when he was at the warriors but was yet to hit that next level when called upon in the NRL. I am a fan of the signing.
I don't think it's a high chance he will go down. The percentage of him fully tearing his acl has increased, but it hasn't jumped from 0% to 80%.
We need a better starting hooker and winger far more than we need a backup 5/8.
Hopefully Ronald has a bit of luck with injuries, can play half and 5/8
Because everyone else pulled out, no huge coup, more back up than starter
Intrigued by this.
I thought Lynn and Twiddle will battle out for Cup 5/8. But with him there is a clear second string half combination now in Volkman/Hawkins.
Ryles going for the clear 1-7 second string mentality, 2 players for each position Soccer mentality.
I don't think Lynn would be much from the little I've seen, but really thought Twiddle (again from the little I've seen) seemed ready to be given a go at Cup at 6, especially since Papalii will be the 1 in Cup (or would he?), and with Miller-Stephen there too.
Again, intriguing is the word. Let's see what the plan is.
