Ryles states he is is no rush to make signings! I am sorry, but we have an L plate coach who sees no rush? Really, we are second last on a ladder. We will be lucky to avoid the spoon. Unless something changes we have no change on last season, despite the fact that I do see improvements in the squad, but we are still way off the mark. I am stunned by this statement and we must have so much money available for the right players to improve this squad yet we appear to be doing risky squat! I truly hope there are some things going on in the background but if we keep status quo, we are in a word of pain for years to come. The fact that we still have no decent replacement for Dylan Brown says it all. I am getting beyond frustrated. We lack serious impact forwards and a quality 6 and centre. Are we just sitting and hoping or is the Club going to come up with something? One concerned and frustrated life long eels fan here.

Why would any decent player want to come play for us? No honestly? The surrounding suburbs are trash.
We havent been successful in 40 years..
No one grows up wanting to play for us, we are mediocre on our best day.
We are simply a team that makes up the numbers.
You will be alot happier as a fan if you accept this.
Ok, so why you here if you have accepted it and obviously never going to win again.
If Wests can get Luai to go there we can get players. All it takes is one influencial player. But to answer your question, money or opportunity or both. Who cares about the suburbs you do not need to live in Parramatta. Gutho lived at Manly his whole time at the club.
Well you could live at Rooty Hill or Mt. Druitt and travel to training at the Eels that alone should attract quality players
Not much available ATM on the open market and top players at most clubs want to stay where they are so I think he is saying if an opportunity comes they will take it but can't just offer massive overs and get players just here for a pay day they don't care and don't put in I prefer to go down our own junior route and pick up signings when we can
Why is it looking for top tier players is the issue why aren't we looking for top tier footy operators you don't put the cart before the horse I mean this is what it is right now and while we aren't the basket case we once were. How far in off the field operations are we behind the benchmarks in the comp.I'd suggest we are a long long way behind and are getting ove taken in our own backyard by clubs coming from a similar situation.
Rooted issues in recruiting
Rooted issues in retention
Rooted in areas of actual a overall plan to end a nie on 40 year premiership drought the problems and issues are deeper than just adding new players.
The more and more you see what's been mentioned in this thread you just see more negative than positive on the horizon.
I said it yesterday and I'll say it again, we're not going to rush into a replacement for Brown because we missed on Galvin. Add to that how the NRL works with players suddenly becoming available. I've no doubt work is being done by the recruitment team to continue adding to the team next year. But I also don't think we're going to see earth shattering recruits announced all of a sudden. As I mentioned yesterday, players that suit your side can suddenly become available.
Heard some interesting news this morning in regards as to why galvin rejected parra. Basically galvin has a get out clause after 2026 and can join bears as their marquee signing. He rejected parra because ryles refused his clause. Heard this from my client who is close to a tigers board member and two player agents.
Why would he want to go to the bears of all places.
Right now he's in a premiership window with a team on the way up.
What'll happen is his pay will continue to rise as his career progresses.
If Gus has his way no hope in hell he leaves the Dogs anytime soon.
It's what I was told.
How reliable is the source?
