              • Hey Pops, how's the recovery going?

Pops, we never had to match the offer from Newcastle to keep Dylan, we just had to offer something ($$ or years) to remove the clauses in his contract, as we did with Mitch Moses - an extra year at 1.2m/1.3m or whatever he is on.

Its all a moot point now and I definitely agree we burned him out playing him like an outside back, 5/8th & only cover defender every week. It's a tough watch Pops, but is what it is.

Bostock was awesome wasn't he, hard to believe that was his first game back in first grade.

                  • I wrote all that bullshit thinking he was a Queenslander, you can save it for another QLDer who you would like to recruit.

When Looking up  Bostock through AI and found him to be an Illawarra boy.....Presume JR probably knows him better than we thought.....that said he is much more accessible than I imagined. Make any offer to get him out of contract. LOL..... go to 650k

Jack Bostock (born 2004/2005) is a promising Dolphins NRL winger/centre who debuted in 2023 after developing through the Illawarra Steelers and St George Illawarra pathways. A Wollongong junior, he balances professional rugby league with university studies. Known for his try-scoring ability, he solidified a starting role in 2024 and returned from injury in 2026. Background and Early Career
                    • Junior Pathway: Born and raised in the Illawarra region, Bostock was an Illawarra South Coast Dragon, playing in the Laurie Daley Cup before progressing to the SG Ball Cup for the Illawarra Steelers.
                    • Dolphins Move: Joined the Dolphins as a pathways player before making his NRL debut in March 2023.
                    • 2024-2026 Progress: Solidified his position on the wing/centre in 2024, earning praise for his development. Despite a minor knee concern in early 2025, he returned to the top side in 2026. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

He has mentioned looking up to teammate Herbie Farnworth for tips on becoming a premier centre. [1]
                • @Nightmare Off season................. sorry fella's this post is out of sequence, my stuff up!

                  Hey Mate! and Coryn

Can't argue with your logic Nos, and I am always with you on your quest for atheletism Coryn.

Bostock is //could be a real choice. I am not convinced we could get Herbie even at 1.2m but I think that Bostock would be on say 350 at the Dolphins, I would double it if necessary. Mainly a case of negotiation.

Answering your question Nos, recovery is going great, get the dressing off tomorrow, but still in the ultra sling for another 4 weeks, I think I will be 2 weeks ahead of schedule in 2 weeks time.

                  • Great to hear about recovery & being ahead of schedule, Pops. Is it painful?
That Bostock / Ryles Illawarra connection could be handy, he'd be a great buy, also looked awesome at centre? Handy to have that attribute.

Like you I can't see a world where Herbie levaes the Dolphins for Parra.

                    • Strange him coming from the Illawarra and Dragons pathways as he is the perfect replacement for Lomax.....could we be that lucky....we don't seemed to have had much recently......

Get Chief to ring MON and get on to him....I have been told he has a direct line! Lol

PS The pain is minimal, its there, but you just accept it.....the operation is so remarkable it is worthwhile for the discomfort.

                    • Pops, If we ever get MON on the podcast, we'll tell him he's a religion on our site.  lol

              • Pops dead right Bostock is exactly what the doctor ordered for our outside backs and brings an aerial game we haven't had since Lomax and he's got a different body type for our outside backs also.

With regards to DB I tried to tell anyone that would listen that he would and will have to grow into being a full time 7 that's what alot couldn't see here they just listened to the commentary of what he was and is now and automatically assumed DB can't control a game.Much like a young Mitchell Moses when he first got here couldn't control a game couldn't tackle to save his life always looked for the big plays but 6-7 seasons later given the keys to the side now look Moses can do it all. That's exactly how I looked at DB transitioning to being a full time 7 and now he's doing it in year 1 at Newcastle.

Parra put all the hard yards into DB and now the guys most probably going to flourish at Newcastle.I'm sure like Moses he's going to have growing pains along the way but it makes me sick that he isn't having those growing pains here.

Parra lost this guy because they were smug enough to think Peter O'Sullivan whose had a hard on for DB for 5 years wouldn't pull the trigger on him but he did and now look at us I mean seriously we let an elite talent get taken from underneath our noses without a viable replacement insight. He then last year with bugger all FG footy goes and plays pacific cup and rips everyone a new one just to say hey even though I played Bugger all nrl this year I'm good to go here.IMO for a team that's battling to try and win a premiership this just isn't smart recruitment or retention letting talents like DB and Lomax move without the hint of long term viable talented replacements moving foward.Basically your burning a year or 2 by doing it.

Long story but it makes me sick watching a Parra Jnr who was here nie on a decade look the goods wearing some other farken teams jersey it makes me sick.

    • I'm still pissed about DB not being here we do all the hard work getting him to this level and now he's gone forever.

  • Eels need far more than Sua.

  • can they take  swap mark o'neill for free. Every fan.will chip in to piss him.out the door

"I just do not see any risk at all. Herbie's skill level is off the charts, he's probably better than Iongi in nearly every metric and he just moves better than Iongi. I don't ever see Iongi becoming elite. He's very good through effort like Gutho…"
