Frankie Fong came up with a solution for the board to clean out the management and sack Saratinos and Mon.

Fair enough! But will that fix the problem? Probably not. But many will feel better for the blood letting.

Frankie has a habit of getting the principle right and many of the " blood lusts" on here want that. All sorts of advice is given over our current dillema, but we all know our own rhetoric and this piece of advice will be no different. But, I am offering a solution to achieve the wants of the many over the want's of the few.

Boards will only remove themselves if there is corruption. No one is suggesting such a thing is in place.

What you really talking about is incompetence based on lack of success. Wrong coach and R&R processes ect.

No one is in a position to make such a judgement unless it  is  our chairman  Mathew Beach. Frankie has confidence in him, I don't know the man but if Frankie say he's good ? So I am backing you Frankie!

You see most people are reluctant to "sack themselves". Shareholders in a publicly listed company may do so, but our shareholders (members) are not speaking through their pockets, so there is no relevance. Unless of course you want to be a Spagnolo and achieve a pseudo coup.

As stated in my last blog, you need a benevolent dictator to take over the missing link of a sport administrator. But they still need a Jim Sarantinos (JS) or equivalent to run the business. If you were going to bring in someone, a recognised sports administrator, we still need a business finance manager.

Don't lose sight of the fact that JS has probably learnt a great deal in his time, regardless of his absence of sports admin experience.

Mon is fundamentally out of his depth but may make a fine pathways administrator (that would be someone that the new GM Football would decide), ie don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, there is a lot of experience of things not to do in this process.  Mon was always out of his depth in the role of GM Football, I was saying this even when supporting him. The title of General Manager is a misnomer for him! A badly written job title.

Now getting back to the problem at large i,e  getting the right man to run football, reporting direct and only to the Chairman, JS remains as General Manager Finance. Nothing to do with the Football side other than what the Chairman tells him. i.e Cap management. Remuneration packages, sponsorships etc.

This new role will be a virtual dictatorship with the exception of the Chairman's veto.

This person has to be profiled to change our whole recognition in the game, a Ponissi, Gould, Cameron, Richardson - better than a Parr. It maybe some one that was once a high profile coach. I'm not sure about Smith or even Richardson for that matter, Smith could be dated and out of his depth now. Anyway that's not for me to decide but for Mathew Beach and the decision-makers to headhunt!

I have previously suggested Cheika because he is a successful business man as well as a sporting coach and doesn't suffer fools. He is also commercial enough to discuss practical ways of offering incentives with his vast experience in Rugby Union, a sport on a world wide basis that is much more professional than NRL management.

I think he is currenty occupied, but bring out "that offer" or chase somebody else that maybe able to fill Mathew Beach's requirements. Cheika is of course already a multi self made millionaire and dealing with Managers and the like would be second nature. He may actually cost less, than those other names, as the challenge may empower him....he after all met with the R&R Commitee in the coaching applications. I know they were very impressed but said they were heading in different directions. Well that direction has changed.

That R&R group need to reidentify themselves as the Chairman should sack the current group and reinvent the process into a direction that gets us out of this mess.

This is IMO the only practical way of achieving our needs. The new person may sack the coaching staff and put in his own man. That may cost a couple of million in compensation but I imagine the new bloke would reuse what he can and waste the rest! Over to you Mathew Beach.
