Watching last night, I don't believe Dylan is anywhere the level he was attaining.

Whether it is the ACL tear (definitely lost pace) but his body language showed to me in pre and post game interviews he doesn't want to go anywhere. I think he sees Parra is home and whilst no one can complain for him taking the 13m, I wonder if he will ever be happy in the Knights wilderness.

I have always been a DB fan, but I also think we burn't him out in the last 2 seasons and confused his role in the process.

I now see DB as a 600pa player and if he maintained his original potential say 800k. i.e my implication is he has lost 25% as a player.

WE have most probably won the jackpot as I think we have seen the best of him whereas I question his future now. I would be surprised if he retains his NZ Test status when you look at the Warriors and their young half.

Watching his current game he is missing tackles, whereas previously he hardly missed a thing. He has also lost confidence in the line, doesn't know or understand his role by the rules that made him recognised in the first place.

We are very lucky and whilst it has been said repeatedly, I cannot believe how dumb the Knights are as he will never be the play maker they have signed for. O'Sullivan has a lot to answer for!

      • This is exactly what I reckon.

Parra won't automatically up my money without me playing well, so I'll get a few more bucks without performance scrutiny at the other place.

        • Wiz and Badge, you maybe right in what you say but I do not think for one minute that DB actually thinks that way.

As a relative kid who has done nothing in his life other than play football after coming to Parra as a 15 year old, is it really a surprise that he has done no thinking, philosophy or history (who's Brett Kenny).

The real criticism goes back to the Jarryd Hayne example of how not to nurture talent. I will explain if that is not understood!

If i was looking for a club for my talented kid, I would be talking to a manager who has some interest and maintenance in his personal development......

    • Parra accept his constant failure and pathetic form, been happening for years Newcastle will end his tenure after 2 years because they can't have 2 muppets on that kind of money.

      • Merkin, you would not know shit from clay.  You would not know what Parra accept.

We really should have a childrens column for you to post in, over the years we could have quiet a kindergarten, to coin a phrase that has recently come back....." fcuk off".

  • Fair comments Poppa, DB seems to have reached his ceiling. The club's negotiation of his contract - make a fair offer of $900-$1m and stand your ground was, with the benefit of hindsight, the correct approach. Pleased to see the club get DB's negotiation and the removal of player options right, player managers have for too long held too much power.

  • Funny thing how things work out.

Last game of the year Dyl got the partial tear if it had been a full ACL and out for 9 months id wager he taked up his option for security reasons.

Now hes gone for money/Security hopefully we land a Galvin or Sandon Smith and it works out for us

    • Everyone is saying Sandon Smith, he contracted til 2026 and unlike Galvin I am not sure Roosters let him go, particularly to Ryles who they had a falling out with, Politis is petty.

I have said that we can get player early out of deals, Smith is different with Politis thoughts on Ryles.

      • True depends on how on the nose he is.

Im pretty sure Galvin is the one wouldn't rule out Ethan Sanders wanting out of the raiders but the jury is still out on if hes a 1st grade player

        • I wonder if Ryles prefers a rookie or someone who has FG experience. Galvin and Smith fit that bill. But Sanders, being left footed too, could be an option. Though i do find it very odd, surprising to myself too, that Sanders has not been close to FG for Canberra. Fogarty moves on Stuart just practically dismissed him.

In his 2 NRL games for us at 6, he was solid. I would like to see him back but Canberra not believing in him at this point is concerning. Or could be they want an experienced 7 as they feel to be in a premiership window. Had the Raiders not had that good of a start to 2025 i wonder if Stuart's mind changes and go through with Sanders.

          • Sanders wasn't ready here physically and he must not still be ready it's no surprise it's just a case of how it is for some of these halves.Sam Walker at the roosters was thrown in too early he has been roll bowled and arseholed with injury the last 2 seasons.

I think a lot underestimate the physicality on young under developed bodies. Some of these guys of there statue especially smaller guys need to get stronger in certain areas and that usually entails carrying more weight which is another challenge for these guys.

Throw in that 26 week grind and some just aren't upto it.It's why if you are thrown in early handling that physical grind early is a real plus especially between the ears.
