Pezet: Hamstring 4-6 weeks

According to NRL Physio.
Sad news for him personally and we wish him all the best for his recovery. It's good news for team selection.

        • It's not personal. I'm sure he's a great bloke.
But yes I'm very frustrated with our R&R who continue to make one fuck up after another. We let DB walk because no one at the club was aware of all his get-out clauses and once it was discovered it was too late. His agent shopped him to the highest bidder. In the meantime we'd lost Sanders and Talagi because their "paths were blocked". And in the 12 months since DB announced his departure, the best we could do was the 3rd string HB from Melbourne with less than a handful of FG games. It's all so incompetent that I'm starting to think that MON et al are in fact spies from rival NRL clubs here to destroy us from within.

          • Yes agreed, any injury to a player is sad news but having to hope an injury holds a player out of our team because we have that little faith in R&R & selection is what it's come down to and I have to admit I also felt relieved hearing that Pezet will be sitting out for a while.

The Pezet decision was and is completely baffling. It was the easiest "I told you so" in the history of the club and if it's not part of some elaborate joke or a lost golf bet then I'm genuinely impressed at the level of incompetence behind it.

            • We got off light Cap, we would have signed him for 3years if we were able

          • 100% CORRECT

  • Never understood this move at all.

Win now we were never that so what exactly was the point in signing Pezet unless there's been some horse trading and we end up potentially with one of Anasta's clients down the track that's the only angle I'm seeing here.

Outside of that I'm still fuming DB isn't in a Eels jersey fuming the best junior we've produced in the last decade and he's farked off elsewhere fark this club is just loaded with incompetence.

    • Yea seeing Brown in a knights jersey hurts

    • I said it is done and should give him a go. Media all claimed it was brilliant but still always had that sense of "But why?" to it. If Lorenzo gets a run and does well, does Ryles treat Pezet like he did de Belin and the future is now?

Ilias is an Anasta client Coryn hahahah.

    • Coryn, I respect this viewpoint about Brown, but what did he do to warrant his pricetag? I saw v little of this in his time and in my view he never played consostently for the $$$ he was on.

I am not a huge fan of the Pez dispenser but am willing to give him the season; Brown had more than enough time to cement himself as an elite player imo

      • It's not so much the price tag I don't really care about that it's the constant revolving door we have after he's left.No one 100 % knows who our 6 is going to be and the thing that does me why bother giving Brown an 8 yr deal if he wasn't in the equation in your halves for the long haul. What exactly was the point of the contract.

Why when you knew you didn't have a replacement in place you have this 8 yr contract scattered with options.DBs been gone a year the left side attack has no running half it has a hole that's as wide as Moses parting the Red Sea and here we are going through the same process 18 months after DBs gone and we still don't have a 6.

If this tells you enough about how we handled the before during and after well this is a debarcle of the highest order. We are a club 40 yrs deep without a premiership and we think losing a player of DBs ilk replacing him first with Joash a bit of footy Dean 5 minutes of Jonah and we still got NFI whose playing where and all we are having is potenial discussions about juniors all while the best player in the pacific cups farked off to Newcastle and we are still sucking monkeys arseholes at the position.

Even worse Moses prime crashes and burns yet again working with another farking half.Absolute pisstake the handling of this.

Sorry about giving you both barrels here Mitchy I mean no disrespect to you personally but the club was just not in a position to let DB walk if anything we can all see this now.

    • I'm confused. I thought this site couldn't wait to get rid of Brown - "he doesn't play to his hype", "he can't attack", "he can't run a team", "he's not worth what we are paying him". I suppose you don't know what you are missing until it's gone.

Realistically, the club lnow we have some great young talents in lower grades and are biding their time. I just hope their development is carefully managed. Those two along with Apa, Iongi and a few others could be the key to a new squad in coming years. Just need more Walker and Ado Carr type players to help build a competitive squad.
