PARRAMATTA were sweating on Chris Sandow finally agreeing to a $50,000 blue and gold handshake to walk away from the embattled club.
After being paid an estimated $2 million-plus during his troubled four years at the Eels, Sandow is still in dispute over his exit payout because of problems reportedly relating to $200,000 in unpaid third-party agreements.
Sandow wants an immediate release from the final year of his contract so that he can link with English Super League club Warrington. But with the UK transfer deadline set to expire on Friday, Sandow is running out of time to make his decision on whether he will accept Parramatta’s payout offer.
The Eels have privately declared they won’t budge on what is understood to be more than a month of Sandow’s salary. The club believes the $50,000 offer is more than reasonable, especially given Sandow’s troubled history at the club.

Parramatta insiders were on Monday night crossing their fingers that a deal could be sorted out by Tuesday so that it doesn’t disrupt another week for the team battling to stay alive in the finals race.
Sandow was due to return to join his Eels teammates at training on Tuesday.
Sandow’s teammates were understood to be furious with his performance against the Bulldogs last Friday night when he produced what was arguably his worst ever game for the club.
Sandow was not required at training on Monday but his week from hell continued when the NRL’s match review committee slapped him with a grade-two shoulder charge offence.
In what is probably now a moot point for Parramatta fans, the embattled halfback is facing between two and three weeks on the sidelines for the illegal tackle on Brett Morris.
The pending suspension now all but guarantees Sandow has played his last NRL game for the Eels.
Even before Monday’s match review charge sheet came through, The Daily Telegraph had learnt the Eels had already decided Sandow would not be travelling with the team to Townsville to take on the Cowboys next Monday.
It is understood Brad Arthur will name Joseph Paulo to partner Luke Kelly in the halves.
Reece Robinson is also expected to be named to make his return at fullback to cover for Corey Norman who suffered a posterior cruciate knee ligament injury last Friday night.
Anthony Watmough is also awaiting scan results to see if he can play on with a knee injury while Danny Wicks (shoulder) is gone for the season and David Gower is also in doubt with a knee strain.

He is lucky to be offered 50k.
Sandow would be packing his gear by now.
Chow amigos !
* Could someone like Beau Henry now play NRL?
* Is it too late to bring someone like Mitch Cornish over for the rest of the year?
Well definitely looks like Sandow has played his last game for us. So Crappy Joe & Dud Kelly to be our halves with Robbo as FB. At least that will leave our 3/4 line intact.
If crab and kelly are the halves this week can we please put this team list into the shittiest eels halves pairing hall of shame? Can someone place this into oneeyedeel speed dial so whenever this site needs a laugh we can pull it up instantly? My glimmer of hope for the finals has just been extinguished by a huge f*rt. This is our lowest point ever the only way is up.
Just give it to the guy FFS.
Its just dragging on and on and on and on.
Let him go on with his life. Get Parra out of the papers.
We made a mistake, we learn from it and move on.
$50k aint going to break the bank and it may just give the team and BA a chance to get on with winning.
