Our second rowers

I had to talk about this.

Our second rowers are complete and utter uselless

Kautoga:Is going backwards gives away to many penatlys terrible defence to many errors.

Tuilagi:same as kautoga

and matterson, lane and Cartwright are not any better

All the experiments our coach has tried with our second rowers has never worked cause there all terrible.

you look at every teams second rowers and there 100 times better then our terrible second rowers.

If im ryless im going straight on the market for second rowers.

  • It's the weakness coming into the season and it's still the weakness now.

Nothing to see here.JR can't fix everything all at once though this is the next fix.

Ill say this anyone that is recruited now should have an urgent athleticism component to there game. That's what we should be looking for now.

A poster on here mentioned having a crack at David Fifita imo this is the ultimate reclamation project his value is down and he has that urgent athleticism component Parra needs on the edge.

    • I agree with Roy & yourself Coryn, it's a massive weakness for us. I don't agree with Fifita being the answer however, we dont need anymore overpaid & underperforming players. Fifita has always been such. I think the fact that Slater wasn't a fan & that he is playing reserve grade at the Titans says it all. Have a look at the top second rowers currently in our game, Young, Olakau'atu, Nikora, Martin etc those are the type of players we need not Fifita.

      • He is definitely the right player as I mentioned does JR back himself to get him where his talent suggests he should be.

I mean for me it's the top 2's with David. If someone can channel that in the right direction and we get him for a value price then he's exactly the type of urgent athleticism we need.

    • Fifita is a talent but is so Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, not sure if he is worth it for us. Ryles might try to lean the junior ranks who knows.

      • 100% Fifita is but a suggestion as an example of the sought of athleticism we need to inject into our pack.

I think we are banking on Will Latu to be that guy.Parras version of the Warriors Halusima.

    • It's maybe not relevent because he's on the outer, but Bryce Cartwright has that athleticism component you speak of.

      • Past his use by date and not physical enough of an edge for what's needed these days.

When BA was here I thought Nuikore and Papali'i should have been our edges but Lane stepped in and did what he did.

Primary for an edge today is line running and making good decisions and being rock solid defensively.

Cartwright if he wants a future in FG imo is at 14.As he's multi skilled and has versatility to burn.

  • Cannot say Kautoga is going backwards when he was nothing special before last night. Plus easier said than done going into market as there is nothing there.

  • I have said from day one that I don't get what Ryles sees in Kautago? He is ordinary to say the least. Lane was playing like he didn't want to be there thus I his leave from the game. Tuilagi defence is nothing short of woeful. Meanwhile Ryles won't even give Matto or Carty a crack. Could they be any worse than those currently being given a run ?

    • Works hard and has skill, but absolutely nothing else
