  • I mean if the shoe was on the foot would we be saying the same it's just the fact we aren't and a lot of the other clubs are. This is what happens when we don't have our off the field aligned and don't have the pull or influential coaches or administrators to get deals like this done.

I mean I don't blame or begrudge the Dogs at all when in all essence the Roosters Storm Broncs and alike have been doing this sought of shite manipulating cap and off field advantages for years.IMO this is just all about how business is done walking the line right on the edge and over it.If they are smart enough to get a way with this stuff it is what it is.The nrl are quite happy to see this happen so this means we have to go and join this party and get our shit together.

If we aren't right off the field what chance are we on it been saying this stuff for to long but it takes a incident like this missing out on a sure thing to come to Parra to highlight this fact.Maybe fans will wake up and understand now this is where we are losing and have very little chance on the field.

I'd off load Jim Mark the lot of them but I'm not sure the constitution allows this because it doesn't look like it's performance based if you ask me.

Ben Ikin what are you doing we are looking for a DoF or CEO are you free or want the job.

  • It shows ryles isn't going to pay overs dogs offer more than he was willing to pay for  a player who hasn't proved anything

  • Don't be like that. The Dogs were floundering at the bottom of the ladder for years and years. They were the laughing stock of the NRL.

They turned over some of their administration, then they secured the best up and coming young coach, then recruited the best GM of Football, then recruited a string of talent mixed with some solid plodders.

When they put this team together everyone laughed at them. Too many utilities, the forward pack was tiny.

Now they're top of the table and STILL recruiting talent.

Don't lash out from a place of jealousy...we would love to be where they are. The Dogs learned from the Panthers success and mimicked it and also played to their own strengths.

Time for us to quit the victim routine and do the same. No more failed coach bids. No more inability to attract and retain talent. We need to go out and get a GM of Football that makes our competition tremble. We need to run the media narrative. We need to be crafting the story that shows us as a club on the up and up - talking up amazing youth and incredible training facilities and a world class club with the ability to splash cash and set players up for incredible careers after their playing days are over.

This is all there waiting for us to take it. If we want to be excellent, we can be. The Panthers did it in a few years. The Bulldogs have done it in a few years. The best time for us to do it was a few years ago...the next best time is NOW.

    • 💯 best post I've seen in a long time Cap keep 'em coming.

    • Well said.

    • You need to be able to recruit but Captain.  Even Penrith started their rebuild with recruiting guys with a winning culture like Maloney , Api and a few other pieces of the puzzle along the way. They were two very key signings that led to success . Their young kids could not fill all the spots. It's always been our problem dating back to even Brian Smiths days. He knew it and he recruited the missing links.

Losing Gavins not the be all and end all, but if we can't recruit a few decent players we are rooted.

    • And I think this all start of first, getting rid of MON.

If I may ask, who is our GM of football at moment?

      • Mark is our GM of Football. He's out equivalent of Gould, as sad as that is to say.

  • The great MON wielding his magic yet again.  Remember a few weeks ago when I said we have nothing that players want , and everyone got all offended like I'd told them their new baby was ugly.  The cold hard truth is all the stadiums and COE's in the world doesn't change the fact that we can't recruit unless we are the only option. The only thing that was half a drawcard for some unknown reason was Arthur. Even a kid that loved Parramatta his whole life won't come to play for us , not even for a few hundred K more.

This needs to be addressed , yesterday. And the people who think I've been wrongly harping on for the past umpteen years need to get their heads out of their arses.,  There's a theme , only coaches we can attract are virgins looking for a start and players with options won't play for us. Our locations shit and our recruitment team are worse, we can't change the location so we need the best recruiters money can buy . We have struggled since Crusher left. So we need to get the next crusher. Our guys are the worst of the worst by a country mile.

This MUST be the end of MON and that pathetic excuses for a recruitment manager Ben Rogers  that makes the office coffees and carries MONs bags around all day.

  • Question is would we take Mahoney? I know there was talk Ryles said no, i havent heard much on that so who knows. NQ will be keen, Manly also. But if Ryles is open i would take Reed back.
