So I went and collected my members jersey today... Looks great and I was even more stoked to see my name printed on it THREE times.. That's right THREE TIMES... Twice with my full name and once with my first initial and full last name. How is this so and why have the Eels sold out on their members?
The full names printed on the jersey are PIRTEK CUSTOMERS!! That's right, Pirtek were offered the opportunity to purchase the jerseys for their preferred customers... They paid $100 for each jersey. I know this because my rep told me he had bought two. One for me and one for my boss (Who doesn't even watch football and is not a fan of the Eels what so ever). BUT what my rep didn't tell me was that our names would be printed on the jersey also!!
THE FULL NAMES ON THE JERSEY ARE NON MEMBER PIRTEK CUSTOMERS!!!
The Eels advertised this as an exclusive MEMBERS ONLY jersey. Non- Members who wished couldn't even get their names on it, even if they paid more!!
We had to be a members to have the chance. We then had to pay $160 for the RIGHT. So minimum cost would be $232.00 (For non-ticketed members).
Pirtek paid $100 and got FULL NAMES printed... Members pay more and only have the first initial and full last name printed.
Seems they misprinted when they added my name twice, my boss is only their once. (Lucky Me!)
My first question is, Does this amount to false and misleading advertising? If, so that is illegal in this country and the Eels have something to answer too!
My second question is, Are members entitled to a refund of at least $60? Why should we have to pay more than people who are NOT MEMBERS and shouldn't be on there in the first place!!
I won't ask for a refund as I got my money worth by being on their so many times, but I'm still pissed that Pirtek customers were added to OUR MEMBERS ONLY JERSEY!!
Ah, the Eels... Still run like a chook raffle... What a friggin joke!!

well i didnt bother with the member jersey but If I was one of those who shelled out $160, yes damn right i would be pissed off about this and ask for my $60 back.
Actually, I think the full-names are people who bought the jersey and everybody else got their initial.
Not so. My bosses name is in full (he doesn't even follow football). He is next to my name. They are not in alphabetical order. There is a hell of a lot more names with the first initial and full last name. They are listed in alphabetical order. These are the paying members. I will find out more tomorrow when I speak to my rep.
I've got nothing to do with Pirtek and my full name is on there
Really? Did you pay for the jersey as a member? And is your name there with first initial and full last name? Could you check for me please?
If I am wrong here I am sorry for misleading people!! And will do a full retraction!! I will find out more tomorrow and will add to this blog. I'm going to the game and will be in the Pirtek box. I'm going to wear to jersey and will show them.
Yep paid for one early in the piece. First and second name on front on top under Telstra premiership. Initial and last name on back
Thanks mate for checking for me...
Tony asked this question of the club and that is what they said was happening.
Still, I'm surprised they allowed non-members to be on the jersey.
Shame they would do that. If I had of known I would have added my wife's name to it. She is not a member, but follows the Eels
