Obviously it's a shame Galvin has chosen to go to the dogs but, for us nothing much changes this season. Team will need to continue on the same path and obviously we will have other targets for the 6. Main thing to remember is if Galvin wanted to be at Parra the option was there. Obviously his heart wasn't in it so need to keep pushing forward

Absolutely not. Had his chance at the Roosters & didn't nail his position.
They're are upset because they were given HOPE, and as usual HOPE can be a dangerous thing.
It definitely hurts not landing Galvin and more so because it's the Bulldogs. But I don't think we need to lose our minds. I really wanted Galvin but I was very pissed off when Blaize left and we ended up with Iongi. Looking at his game last night and Iongi's game on Friday, I know who I'd rather.
On recruitment, this year has actually been good. From 2022-2024 it was a bit of a disaster. This year though look at some of our top performers. Iongi, Foxx, Williams, Lomax, Walker and then Sammrani, Kautoga and Joash are all coming along.
I think a couple of good forward signings and some more promotion of youth has to be the way forward. Keep showing the kids it doesn't matter about reputation or age. If you are good enough and buy in you'll get your shot.
Apa Twiddle for me should be getting fast tracked for 5/8 right now. He is a bigger body and has only played a few cup games but already looks too good for them with the ball in hand. In a few years time he could move to centre if Lorenzo bangs the door down. Give Lorenzo a few more years to develop as he is in the lighter side. Volkman is only 22 and killing it in cup.a full year of footy after his injury lay off and another off season and he could be a lot more prepared for nrl.
As disappointed I am with not signing Galvin, it doesn't matter!
Our future is looking bright and Ryles will bring out future stars for our team without spending too much.
Lets sign some quality forwards and next season will be looking great!
See the knock on effect is there though when you say quality we just lost out on quality so why if we get in another situation like this with a club with more or as much off the field pull why would the given player come to Parra.
This is the ongoing issue we face.
The only way out of this is development so we aren't slaves to the market.
We are starting to see all the green shoots that Ryles has implemented in the club and it's only been a few months. To get quality players attention we need to keep building and climbing up the ranks. Iongi and Ryley smith look like long term spine members. Moses will be quality for another 5 years as long as his body holds up. Will have a load of cap space to use but we just need to find the right players to bring in who want to be at the club.
Iongi yes Smith I'm not so sure as I know we were in on Tom Starling from the Raiders but he resigned.Hooker still needs to be upgraded or have at least 2 options there unless they see Hopgood as a legit 2nd option.
Wierd to see them just taking up the option throught he would definitely get an extension as well
I reckon it's ESL after next year to get that end of the career money and not taking too much more out of his body.
