Parramatta’s shocking away form has continued with the Eels going down in an embarrassing 44 to 12 loss to a young, inexperienced Panthers side.
The match couldn’t have started worse for Parramatta. They lost Ryan Morgan in the warm-up with Cheyse Blair receiving a late call-up. And then after just three minutes, Travis Robertson scored a near length of the field try to put the Eels down six to nil in the early minutes.
However, Jarryd Hayne got the Eels back square when, playing out in the corridor he excels, at second receiver, dummied and step to score basically un-touched. Sandow’s conversion made it twelve all.
Unfortunately the Eels then conceded two tries as the young Penrith sided started playing cavalier attacking football. Dave Simmons scored the first and then James Segeyaro scored the second as the Panthers beat the Eels with smart short passing.
Vai Toutai put Parramatta back to within two, when he showed amazing strength to barge over despite the attention of plenty of Penrith defence. However, again, Penrith responded with points when Cheyse Blair made a bad miss in defence and Robinson went in for his second try in the final minutes of the half.
Down by eight at half time, Parramatta really needed to be first to score but Ben Roberts, only minutes after entering the fray, missed a tackle from a Penrith scrum win allowing David Simmons to crack the line with Segayaro eventually going over for his second.
Penrith pretty much put the match beyond doubt, when a kick to the wing from Luke Walsh, ended up bobbling out to Dean Whare who simply picked up and scored. Walsh converted to push the score out to 32 to 12.
Parramatta continued to give Penrith plenty of opportunities with poor handling and they were somewhat lucky that it took the Panthers almost 15 minutes to score again with Lewis Brown retrieving a Walsh chip kick to push the gap out to 26. And just to rub salt into the wounds SImmons scored from another Walsh kick to finish the match up 44 to 12.
Penrith’s forwards dominated the smaller Eels, who contributed to their own demise with scrappy handling and a number of very poor defensive moments. There are a couple of Eel's players in that side who simply shouldn't play first grade again.

To loose to a team that had lost 5 in a row by 32 points is a total disgrace, I am glad I didn't make the 200klm journey to see it live.
There are some Eels who simply shouldn’t play first grade again ...don't hold back Phil.
Name & Shame!!!!
The usual stupid penaties, dropped balls, lack of attention to detail, lack of urgency in defence...I will single out one player. Ben Roberts: unbelievable. May be next round we get to see some youngsters from lower grades Eels fans have high hopes for. Zac Docker Clay anyone?
half an hour up the road isn't that far from home is it?
We must have the most expensive coaching staff.in the nrl...WTF...are they doing at training?...
Time to start blooding.. That was unacceptable..
Ben Roberts was poor and lost
Kelly was no where to b seen and is not really giving much spark from 5/8
Our forwards were totally out played.. Really sad
Time for excuses is over, the fans have been putting up with this crap for 3 years and getting worse. I would rather see youngsters out there having a go than seeing overpaid lazy talentless shits doing nothing. There is enough experience in some of our players to be performing a lot better than they are, and there is not one player standing up and leading this side.
