Summary:
Canterbury Bulldogs have granted hooker Reed Mahoney permission to speak with rival NRL clubs, potentially paving the way for his early exit despite being under contract until the end of 2026. Mahoney, a key figure in the Bulldogs' recent resurgence, joined the club in 2022 on a four-year, $2.5 million deal after playing in the grand final with the Eels. While instrumental in lifting the team from 15th to first on the ladder under coach Cameron Ciraldo, the club sees Bailey Hayward as their long-term hooker. This, along with Mahoney's recent disciplinary issues, prompted his camp to seek transfer options — a move approved by Bulldogs GM Phil Gould. The development coincides with the club’s imminent signing of teenage star Lachlan Galvin. Mahoney, known for his toughness despite his smaller stature, has played 161 NRL games and was recently part of the Maroons' extended Origin squad.

Think they see Haywood as their long term 9 and prob pick up Da Silva to keep Gavin happy
Well going to the Bulldogs under the Pinocchio Gould lies sure doesn't last too long.
Halfway through season 3 of a 4 year deal and he's unwanted. He was also promised the Captaincy which he had for about 5 minutes. Gus is full of it, but he does get his man!
Let their fall be swift and humiliating
I actually wouldn't hate sexton on a cheap deal so he can go at the dogs in a game 😂
🍻🥂🤞

Sexton is pretty solid and reed off the bench lol
Sexton reported to be leaving now too. He's not the best, but he's not terrible and a few other clubs could really use a cheap organising half.
Will getting rid of 2 spine players mess up the Bulldog's season? Guess we'll see..
