  • Lol he said he told sexton he met Galvin the other day. Now he's saying he's never met him lol

  • Fox - Phil Gould has pulled the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs out of the Lachlan Galvin sweepstakes 🚨 It leaves just one club as the firm favourites to land his signature and it is

  • Gus will get away with this for sure. Absolutely no repercussions from the NRL. But blind freddy can see that Gus and the Bulldogs worked behind the scenes for quite some time in order to manipulate a scenario whereby Galvin would be given a release from the Tigers and sign with the Bulldogs. Gus using his media platform to publicly groom him too.
Gus: "I was minding my own business and one day out of the blue I was told that Galvin is free to negotiate. I honeslty had not ever thought about signing Galvin until that very second. No one from the Bulldogs had ever spoken to Galvin or his manager until that day. We just got super lucky. And before we'd had a chance to speak to Galvin, he rang us and said he'd like to be a Bulldog. Honeslty it's like we won the lottery".
Literally evryone else who follows NRL: "Hmmmmmmmm"

    • The NRL hierarchy get presented with so many scenarios and opportunities to better the game and they fail to act each and every time.

Its not rocket science- if you hold a paid position at a club, you can't be employed by the media (especially in any commentary roles)

      • They fail to act because them acting would hurt people they consider their golden geese.

This kind of drama is great for the NRL - it keeps the front page stories rolling and the sport super relevant. They love the soap opera. Basically any drama short of criminal charges, the NRL would be fanning the flames because it just gets more people tuning in and engaging.

    • You had it nailed in the first sentence Mutts. Gus will get away with it.

Why toe the line if there are no repercussions for overstepping it?

This is the reality of the NRL "governance". Our sport is a sport run by who you know and rules are all "kinda" rules. It's not just Gus, there are a heap of "don't ask, don't tell" things that happen in the NRL, we just have to be savvy enough to take advantage of them instead of doing what we did when we rorted the cap and doing it transparently, blatantly, and still getting a wooden spoon for our efforts.

The NRL is shonky, so Gus gets away with it. We need to have the flexibility as a club to work smartly within this shonky governance otherwise we'll never get ahead.

  • Not saying Gus is secretly a homosexual, but if you were secretly a homosexual ( not that theres anything wrong with that ) you'd be very very good at this kind of behaviour.

Again , not saying Gus is secretly a homosexual, but if you were , and the many stories that've been bubbling along for years by people claiming to have witnessed his behavior were true , well you'd be very skilled at Gus-lighting and deceiving people with lies.

    • Allegedly Wiz

"Well they (NSW) base their game plan around Mitchell Moses long kicking game, Strnage is a gun player but when we're in a tight grind and possession not going our way Moses can just kick us to a win with field possession."
