HKF, the club announced in July that they would still only play 11 home games at CommBank. With 1 still going elsewhere. Looks like moving forward it will be Magic Round, It is not the end of the world, the club gets great financial kicks out of this.
The club agreed to take a home game to Magic Round yes, however we get no say on who the opponent is. Blame the NRL / AI. Magic Round 2026 will see Parra play the Storm and Roosters play North Queensland for the 3rd time since Magic Round began in 2019.
It's going to be a horror draw for us you can tell, we already know we play storm twice away, we will get panthers twice, broncos twice, knights only once in Newcastle.
Yep. And the club will thank Abdo and co for it too. I don't get this club sometimes.
Well of course we get Penrith and Brisbane twice, they are big ratings and crowd games. Thats pretty much every year. Same playing Dogs twice a year.
Eels v knights is also a big draw card but we usually only get them once and it's at Newcastle 9-10 times.
When the draw is un-even in relation to how many times teams play other teams there needs to be some fairness involved. I can't see why the nrl can't more evenly share the match ups around over 3-5 year blocks.
Any Parra game reletively is a big draw but some opposition than others more so. Parra fans travel well.
You are never going to get an even draw. Some clubs will say fair, others not so much and vice versa the next year.
But what do you conceade as fair? Quality of opposition? As i said earlier many would have said Canberra twice last year was amazing. Turns out they were the surprise team of the year and were a hard opposition. Who is to say Gold Coast or Newcastle or Wests wont be the same this year? That is why you will never get a perfect draw.
Or we play Gold Coast during Origin and we might have Moses or might not, just what happens.
Others mention conference, which doesn't work as it makes it worse with getting all Sydney teams guarenteed every year. It is the same pretty much as what we have now technically.
Others say shorten the year and we play them once. Well all well and good until TV deal is less due to less games from the shorten season and players are paid less then they complain about less pay. Cannot play each team twice as that is too much.
You could say 3-5 year blocks like say we get Penrith, Melbourne and Brisbane twice for 3 years. But then for 3 years after that get Dragons, Tigers and Warriors but who is to say they are the top 3 teams then? There is no 100% perfect system.
We are a big and loyal fanbase. TV gets good ratings from us, always. As apparent that we are the channel 9 game for Magic Round on Saturday night.
Have we ever won a MR game? All I can remember are defeats and some truly bad ones.
We beat the Warriors. Jake Arthur scored and his dad cried.
I just alway find it funny that it is in Brisbane and yet it is an away game for them each year. The NRL couldn't give the Broncos any more of a leg up.
Yep 100%. It should be home games for Brisbane, Dolphins and Titans at a minimum. You could argue for the Cowboys too. But no, Parra are like the dopey 5th mate who keeps doing everyone favours.
