Hi guys,
I've exchanged a few messages with a few people who have asked about getting more involved in the political side of things and I'd like to offer to get an email group going to ensure your kept in the loop in terms of issues and happening related more to the political/constitutional/administrative side of the club.
After the last election I have deliberately tried to tone down the political posts, because I think it was probably a turn-off for some people. A lot of folk just want to be fans, and that's cool and I haven't wanted the site to get to heavy for that reason.
It's for this reason that I didn't start a thread on either of the AGMs this year. I regret that now. But at the same time, I'm already conscious that politics rather than this week's match against the Sharks have dominated discussions. Hence the decision to take the discussion off site.
I have tried this before within a group on the site, but I didn't think that worked very well and I think maybe a group email might work better. I'm not sure, but I think its worth giving a shot. I'll make sure your aware of any new developments, discuss club issues like the constitution, administration , AGMs and so forth and assuming I do get involved with the next election, I'll draw on your thoughts regarding policies, directions and so forth. And if there is enough interest I might organise a get together and see if I can tee up a guest from the club to take questions, etc.
If you want to be part of this either:
a) let me know in the comments below or
b) send me a private message via the inbox
By doing so you agree that I can email you on these isses - I'll use the email you have registered with on the site.
The only criteria is that you are a member of at least one of the Football Club or Leagues Club.
Let's see what we can build!
Phil

Count me in Phil, good idea.
I'm in and well done for your effort to co-ordinate this. I will be joining the Leagues Club on Monday. After >40 years supporting Parra its time to do more that just cheer at games.
I'm not sure what will be most effective for co-ordinating group action: this site or a group email. Many people browse this site yet email based activist sites (eg like Get Up) seem good at marshalling individuals to action. There needs to be actions that can be taken ?petitions, ?email camppaigns or something else that can be done now, especially by those waiting their three years to be eligible to vote.
I'm in. I've got footy club membership, I'll pick up Leagues club membership this week.
