Jonah Pezet

Do we play him at 14 or do we keep him 18th or 19th man.

        • Honestly I'm not paying attention to the results because I still stand by my statement round 3 after the dragons win when I put the line through us then.

Injuries have hurt us but I'm still seeing lack of physicality in the middle of the ruck and a real lack of athleticism outside of JaCs speed in the outside backs.

Caveat I give honourable mention to Joash because I'd have him in my team somewhere he's trying his heart out every week.I can't question his effort. He's been asked to basically cover everywhere and he's doing a great job.

Overall though Parra aren't Cinderella and Prince Charming isn't coming to the rescue with the glass slipper. It's back to the same old for me a middle a right winger and a left centre please.

          • Ok but we have 1 win more this season since we are 4-6 oppossed to 3-7 last year which have lost 2 rep players (DB and Lomax) whilst we are injury ravaged and having a game (vs Tigers) STOLEN from us.

I see Volkman and Samrani are revelations so far despite their handful of games. TDS is a great offensive weapon compard to Riley's boring belt and braces.  They make thigs happen. Once we get Kautoga and Tuivati back they won't run over us in the middle.

I see positives and fight from the players that they can challenge for 7th-8th.

      • So you write the season off now. Good for you. I don't think the players and Ryles are

        • For us to be competitive games have to go a certain way with this group that's the only reason I've put the line through us.I mean Melbourne this week let's see if we can keep these guys under 30 shall we that'll be a positive sign.

JR needs more talent that it looks like we aren't going to land this year.Jonah is Jonah his defense all of a sudden isn't going to change, remember the other side gets paid to play to.As for his perceived value what is it exactly you have to explain it too me.Stop gap is what it is.There's zero long term value there hell if Iongi wasn't injured I'd throw Joash in there just because I know that guy isn't going to let me down fully understanding he isn't the long term answer but I swear that guys playing for the badge every week.Jonah is just a mercenary gaining experience so he can better himself at his next stop that's all this experiment is.There's no value for us over an SoO period with a team he's running.

    • Agreed

    • Yep, Chiefy, agreed. I think JR will slot Pezet into 7 and leave Volkman at 6 if Moses goes to Origin

    • Different team, different system......love your optimism Chiefy.....are you growing a little horn or just feeling frisky?

    • When Moses is out with Origin I reckon Ryles will go with Pezet at 7 and Volkmann at 6.

  • Nsw cup i reckon. Renzo to be 18 or 19th man. Pezet to cover moses during origin but other than that plays 7 in cup

Interesting what he's saying about how if these rules persist there will be changes to recruitment, with the small utility forward less important and the big man gaining prominence.
