Just wondering what others think. I know im only an old bloke but have watched the game grow and change so mych over the years. But is it going to far . The reasons  is it the speed of the Athletes of today or the rule changes like the 6agains and the dubious referring decisions. Watching tonight's match cowboys v sharks there was 80 points scored in 80 minutes. Even the commentators made the point of saying he thought it was ridiculous. Personally i am beginning to think the amount of players going to be needed on the bench if things keep going the way the NEL is headed will need to grow even more than what has transpired for this season. Im not only talking about the Eels but all teams as I honestly think it will catch up to All teams . I know there will be some say your inly an ild fart and to get with the modern game. They may well be right . But the more im watching games i just think it's going overboard. All this is just my humble opinion wondering what othes think

  • Im an old fart  "Hector Bob Down" but I agree ...not only is the game structurally fucked the rules are ruining RUGBY LEAGUE....but I get it times change and maybe the game now is the most lucrative ..........fans , ratings etc...means more MONEY ...and as they say money talks and bullshit walks.....

i think about the game in the 80s at the height of our powers ......I miss it but maybe I need to move on.......

    • Thanks parra Greg . I'm not the only one saying its not the game we grew up with hey

  • I've always disliked games where too many points are scored.Games like Basketball and AFL lose appeal in my opinion because there's too much scoring. Soccer is the biggest game in the world somewhat because when a team scores it's likely to determine the result. Too many tries in NRL lessons the impact a single try can have on a game. I'll take a 22-16 game over a 40-30 game every day of the week

  • I agree I would rather watch a tightly fought game where tries are hard to come by instead of what is starting to look like touch football, the 6 again rule does my head in when it is overused and you can't even tell what they were given for.

  • I totally agree Hector. I am struggling to engage with VlandyBall...ugly Pete owns this debacle and it needs to be pinned to HIS chest personally

3 games so far this round for 171 points...about thirty tries if all converted...30 fucking tries!!!

There is no point to watching a wholegame unless you are 12 and pee you pants whenever a try is scored..or you find refs yapping super sexy

    • Yes Randy it's getting harder to watch . Will the powers that be take any notice as to what they are creating is not in my opinion any benefit to the game sadly I don't think so

      • I'm too remote to catch games live Hector, how does it feel in person?...because on telly it's hot garbage

Gambling interests have become "His Mastsers Voice" to our game....fucking moneybugs

        • Randy finding it harder to follow watching at the games so much faster especially when you hear bloody Ruck Infringement and everybody around saying. What the stuff for. No body knows . Plus everything is just going hundred miles an hour . I've been a season ticket holder well over 25 years and it's just getting harder to go sit and watch a game . And getting the same to watch on the TV . Then again probably getting on in years not helping Hey😂

  • also, it's fucking with players careers....is Junior past it or not? It depends on how it's reffed.

"Galvin is a skinny 13 masquerading as a half. He makes poor decisions, throws some shocking passes and carries on like a pork chop. Absolutely, we dodged a bullet."

No one wants to pay overs, but that is the position we are now in due to our own incompetence. .
