Guymer played 82 mins, at left backrow. Tuilagi played right backrow for 70 mins.
Paulo (55) & William (59) were props for most of the game. Doorey (28) & Mataele (29) the extra prop mins. Otherwise DBL & Walker were 'lock' and I think Pryke played middle and may have covered Tuilagi?
Thought Guymer was caught turning in a few times from edge backrow. Needs to communicate with his inside defender a bit more?
Guymer just isn't ready for First Grade yet. He has the smarts but his body isn't there. His future is at lock, he needs to build up some muscle, doesn't bend the line or even dent it. He knows the hit and spin but doesn't pump the legs. Has a decent pass on both sides of the ruck. Can be our starting 13 next year if he can have a big off season. We don't have a starting 13 unless Hopgood takes back that role.
"I do wonder (and this is pure uneducated speculation) whether we are too conservative with player debuts, especially in the halves.
Sam Walker, Dylan Brown, Tom Dearden, Isaiya Katoa, Ezra Mam - all debuted in first grade at 18 or 19.

"Well Volkman didn't do well last year as he had an unsettled pre-season as he was coming back from a shoulder reconstruction, so he hadn't played for about a year before that. Then comes into a team with a new coach, new systems and a rookie…"
"Or dare I say Canterbury? I know they have Woods but Gus is able to move players around like furniture so it's fits, well tries to make them fit. A new toy comes available, he drops is current one and goes for new one."

Doorey?
Doorey done his ACL, do you mean Pryke or Moretti?
What did moretti play
Trombone.

Only thing I noticed from Guymer was his light weight hit and spin carries, being gased and getting wrong footed in defence too often.
Sorry, I'm just not a Guymer fan.
His carries are soft and indeed the hit and spin he does are not inspriring.
But he was crucial for us in defence. Tackled everything and covered so well for Moretti, Taulagi etc...who were missing tackles.
He's still young (22!) but his ceiling might be low Guymer, but with a high-ish floor. We need to develop his ball skills and he'll be the 13 maybe.
