    • Should be offering halisima mega money

  • It's the clubs biggest problem in my opinion trying to buy a premiership when we have one of the bigger catchments to choose from and we can't develop worth a damn. The latter is a longer lasting more sustainable option. This in my eyes is what the club need to build towards and it allows us to have a more strategical approach to building a team instead of being a slave to the market. With more teams coming online in the next 5-10 years or so if we aren't on the development train I see a rocky road going foward.

    • The reason why the storm, Broncos and Roosters have a production line of talent is they sign up the best young players on long term contracts outside the cap.

Everyone that makes an Eels junior rep side should be on a contract until there at least 21, no contract no game time.

Itd shore up our best juniors, stop managers using our junior systems as a shop front for other clubs and allow us time to make better retention decisions with our juniors.

If there good enough to start in first grade by 21 it gives us a leg up to extend their contract and nullify competition for their signatures from rivals.

This is in my opinion our biggest issue with our juniors , some aren't locked into our system , we pay for their development but don't derive the benefit.

Our muppet talent scouts struggle to identify solid 100-150 gamers that fill out your top 30 let alone future rep stars.

Its a definite problem Coryn and we simply won't know if we've improved in this area for a few years, if not done right we slip further behind.

      • This☝️

      • Finally someone one that knows what he talking about.

      • signing up dopes that's aren't winning you games every other week, for 8 years and blocking the paths of any future kids for one of the most crucial positions in your development is also a huge no no.

      • Bup can you slap MON in the face with your reply .......why cant they see this SMH

      • What i think if you bring juniors up through the system they dont cost that club nothing you can pay them what ever you want and costs nothing on the cap but if a another club wants him will they have to pay up $500 000 to that club then pay for that player what ever he wants

      • Nice description there mate.

It's why I think we'll struggle to break this premiership drought .When all those mentioned and others have everything aligned to work we are to far behind and  they talk about cohesion on the field I'd suggest off the field need to look in the mirror also.

        • We have the building blocks already in place with our Reggies and juniors having a good season.

It's who and how those building blocks are managed. I'd  like to see Peter Sterling move in that direction, more in a management role then hands on.

Identify them and lock them up.

If Parra don't win, might as well collect the wooden spoon now.
