Parramatta Eels believed they were on the verge of signing teenage star Lachlan Galvin after positive talks with his agent during their win over Manly. The club offered a lucrative deal and a clear development path alongside Mitchell Moses. However, less than 48 hours later, Galvin chose the Bulldogs, reportedly influenced by a close relationship with Bulldogs assistant Luke Vella and a long-term plan quietly executed by Bulldogs head of football Phil Gould.
Despite Parramatta’s higher offer (over $800,000 per season vs. Bulldogs' $750,000 in year three), Galvin was swayed by Gould's subtle recruitment approach and admiration for Vella. The Eels, disappointed again after losing Blaze Talagi previously, must now look at other options such as Melbourne’s Jonah Pezet or Roosters' Sandon Smith to partner with Moses.
Galvin is expected to begin training with the Bulldogs soon and may debut against Parramatta on the King’s Birthday holiday.

There were 20 plus players in that squad, how many got signed Wizzy?
Galvin played Matt's for us , how many times would you like that Mansplained?
Oi.
Past your bed time go take ya sleepy pills.
@Eli Stephens
Eli why should we pay 500k plus to have Blaize learn his trade, I reckon you would not have to pay much more to get Sandon Smith who is now a proven First Grader.
Pops how do Penrith Melbourne get a way with it they had Jack Howarth parked up down there for the last 3 years and now they have a starting centre.
Why wouldnt we pay our up n comers more so we can keep them in the club.As they wouldn't count against the cap as that's top 30.
I think Bup had a response about this a few weeks ago.So maybe this is how we keep our juniors around a bit longer.I mean the Storm have Pezet Fa'alongo seemingly tied up for years when in all essence us in comparison we lose those types of talents.
I don't know the logistic's well enough to answer your question Coryn....invitations to anyone to answer that one?
Yes mate open to anyone it's just seemingly over there times Melbourne especially never lose out on a player that I can recall as I see they've just added the unwanted GC prop today also.But they stash your Pezets Howarths Fa'alongo's and alike and have no trouble keeping them even with apparent blocked pathway to FG.
Not sure how but they do.
Thought about it again Coryn. I suspect that essentially they cherry pick, one off cost? that leaves us with 9 rasberries (not quiet cheries) that fit into our develop pool and we pay them all...... Melbourne, Roosters and Manly are renowned for this, they sort through our rasberries pick one or 2 and pay accordingly so we just lose a couple more off our tree.
The subjectiveness of talent selection still comes into this and always will.
You like Peter O'Sullivan for example, personally I cannot imagine why he paid 1.3m for DB for 10 years.....that illustrates the subjectiveness.
I would definitely take sandon smith to partner Moses if they can pull that deal off
