I'm seriously disgusted Jarryd has been left out of the Australian side. This is the player who has been consistently the top outside back in the country at representative level for the previous two years. He has never had a poor game at representative level and he has managed to star on the wing playing for a badly beaten NSW side.
And while we can be harsh on Jarryd because of our high expectations, I've yet to see Jharal Yeh Yow able to produce the kind of brilliance that Jarryd produced even in his last game of NRL. So you can't even say he's out of form because he's been our best player on the park in three of his games this year, and he's had few opportunities because of the performances our side have contributed and the fact that other sides are basically marking him out of the game.
And let's remember the last time he didn't play for Australia we lost to the Kiwis.
From a selfish point of view, I hope it gives Jarryd the motivation to tell coach Kearney he wants to step up and play five-eighth. As five-eighth, at least he'll have the opportunity to take more responsibility for his own performance. I kind of think this selection represents the fact that the selectors have forgotten he can play wing so I think playing six now represents his best path into an Australian jersey.

Tim Sheens set the standard last time the team was picked when he chose Lote on the wing because as he said at the time "he wanted a specialist winger".
Hayne would be in my side but i cant say im disapointed he missed out.
But have you ever seen Jarryd produce a lethargic game at rep level???
I do hope it reminds him that he can't take rep selections and so forth for granted. Who'd have thought he'd be playing City/Country in a battle for the Blues side.
I disagree.
Yow Yeh is very much one of the form wingers in the comp, his try against the raiders in Rd.2 showed more brilliance than anything we've seen from Hayne so far this season.
Jarryd Hayne is, even on a bad day, one of the best outside backs in the competition. But with some of his lackadaisical performances this year (that's right, lackadaisical), and his recent on-field discresion, it's no wonder he hasn't retained his spot on the wing.
I have a tremendous amount of manlove for Jarryd Hayne. He would be close to my favourite player behind FFMM, and of course, the great Billy Rogers. Anyone who thinks this guy is the source of our problems this season is, for the lack of a better word, a total f**kwit.
I think the drop to city-country could do him the world of good though, it was his performance for City in 2009 that led to an origin call-up, and the idea of him going head to head with Josh Dugan for the NSW fullback spot is all the more incentive for him to step up. You stick Hayne on the wing for Australia and not only is he wasted, but he's also not under the same pressure to prove his worth to the selectors.
If there's any one player that can pick up our game and improve our situation this season, its definately him. Hopefully, rep season can bring him back to his usual form.
