I'm probably gonna get bashed in the comments for this.But if iongi comes back since his on emergency i actually think papalii should drop out to reserve instead of Hawkins.I feel like his matured more as a half and has improved heaps.
I don't know tho that's just my thought.

Hawkins is definitely a more polished half, but if Ryles really sees Joash as someone who can turn into a 6 now is the time to pump the reps in. Could just give Joash a total week off footy to freshen up the body imo wouldn't hurt
I think Hawkins would be the best half with Moses at the moment but that doesn't mean that Joash wouldn't be a great number 6
At this stage of the season, it's not all about putting the best team on the field. We're not making the 8 and not likely to get the spoon, so right now is the time to experiment. No point in going the conservative route, Ryles understands this and is using the circumstances to get the most out of a bad situation
We won't win a comp with Hawkins at 6. So better experiment with someone at 6 when we got our fit players
Hawkins is a quality backup 7.
He isn't a 6.
