That oa tough game to watch. Other than the first 20 mins you could be forgiven for thinking the whole parra side were backing up from origin. Zero go forward on most sets and rarely looked like scoring. The only thing that stopped the score blowing out was there solid online defence but even that folded at the end. Ado car for all his speed just needs to get the ball and run. He dances around and waits for the defence to come to him. Samrani has been solid but too slow for centre and has no aggression.
Lomax is doing the work of 3 backs in attack as the rest of them were getting driven back most of the time.
Hopgood has too many errors in his game and just needs to hold the ball and run.
All in all a very disappointing performance in a winnable game.

Come on you serious ? If you can't see a massive improvement in this side from the last 2 years then I don't know what can please you! The last month or so of watching this team and I no longer sh*t myself whenever teams get a penalty or set near our line. I know we are capable of defending it. We have improved so much over the last month that I'm very confident that this time next year we will be entrenched in the top 8. Not sure how much money for for next year but I would say we still have some serious coin to spend (if needed) add that to what we already have and we've got a seriously good footy side. Penrith were desperate today and they played as such.

Great game of footy I thought it was in the balance for 70 minutes and we got beat by the best in the game.
We've been on the right side of the ledger more so than most teams against this lot.
The hard watch is seeing the errors it's present in preseason and now what are x amount of games in and we are still making them.
The way our middles are playing now there hitting wider and ball playing more we are using ball movement to open the spaces for them when we do go down the pipe.
Ill say this about recruitment and I'm just watching this Canberra outfit curb stomp the roosters physically urgent athletes is what this team needs position regardless we really need to find those guys with leg speed and who are just flat out athletes.
I'm not down on this team it's what it is if we make the errors the margin for error for us just lessens.
What I am worried and I can see it happening now if we come up against a team that is more athletic than us then we are in trouble.

we need to be seamless and time will be our friend particularly with the younger players
but the new ideas in attack and our resolute defence is fantastic progress

WTF are some people expecting!? I always walk away from a loss disappointed, but I can't fault anything with the inexperienced team we are fielding. That's the best lineup Penrith have had all season, if they lose tonight they equal a 72 year-old record of being in this position on the ladder after winning the premiership the season before.
Compare the teams on paper and look at our statistics tonight. We beat them in nearly all areas. We are just lacking some polish and two or three strike players.
I've never classed myself as a unicorn, but didn't realize how many negative pricks are on the site., It's like they are hoping for a loss.
I have seen more in half a season of coaching by Ryles than I ever did in over a decade with Arthur "chasing collisions and front loading efforts" He always went to market rather than promoting juniors( never developed any or interested in any) unless they came out of his ball bag. JR has been a breath of fresh air in that regard.
When you watch the game live you get a full perspective of the energy and intensity of the players they never gave up and our defence has improved out of sight.
At full-time it was evident how disappointed the players were with the loss. It certainly wasn't close enough is good enough. They were shattered.... a win they believed they should of chalked up.
I like the direction we are heading, especially over the last 7 weeks.
Maybe some posters should just piss off and show up again after the rebuild is complete.

For some reason, I expected a bit of a relapse today defensively, after a great month in that regard, just thought maybe the Panthers being desperate we might not keep up.
But it took the best player in the game, & the Panthers best game this year, to get it done.
Great to hear the intensity (and disappointment with the loss) was evident live.
It's frustrating to lose, but another 80mins proving how far this team has come, and we haven't scratched the surface considering the cap space available.
