Gus getting destroyed by media and fans.

Hard to feel sorry for the bloke when he goes on national tv a few weeks ago denies any interest in a player then signs him a few short weeks later. Media and fans are absolutely crushing his credibility and it's just a bad look for the game when a player takes 500k less to join the club that Gus is the head of. Pressure will firmly be on the bulldogs this season as anything less then a title will lead to a backlash

  • As it should. He basically groomed the kid on national TV to join. Sent his old high school teacher to whisper sweet nothings to coerce him to come across. Didn't he do similar and say similar about Reed? Gus only wants what is new and shinny while the old gets made redundant and thrown to another club to pick up the scraps. Gus saw Burton has the 6 of the future. That's what he sold him the idea of to join from Penrith, paid him the big bucks and now signed a new 6 only a couple years later. He is as worse a snake as they come. But we move on.

    • He needs to stop all media commitments if he's going to be the head of football. Basically got in the kids head to join the dogs at a low cost on some development idea. Looks awful

  • Dogs fans have been surprisingly quiet in responding to the criticism on socials. I think even they know deep down something really stinks about how Gould is going about his business.

    • Most of them don't even want Galvin at the club 😂 definitely doesn't pass the pub test.

  • Gus has played this game for long enough - he knows that in a weeks time this will be yesterdays news and everyone will move on. In fact, that'll happen on Wednesday with the drama of Origin.

The reality is that the Dogs have already massively outperformed expectations this year - it's already chalked up as a great year for them, even if they fade away a bit (and I suspect they will). Gus was a divisive figure already and has never been one to make friends, this was all par for the course for him.

The NRL isn't a serious organisation when it comes to governance, heck it's run by V'Landys who is one of the loosest guys on the planet when it comes to doing shonky things.

I don't get this attitude of hating on someone who out-maneuvered us. We got played by Moses and by Gus, that's on us. We felt like we were in the box seat, and we weren't. We were beaten all ends up...again.

Gus got the job done and our mob didn't.

Do you think an Olympic athlete blames the person who won gold for them winning silver? Nah, they work harder and harder so they can take the gold next time.

We need to stop being victims. Gus isn't the problem, our lack of having someone working for us who can win against Gus is the problem...and that is completely within our control.

    • That's all true but mostly fans are just going to see him as a liar now moving forward and won't believe a word that comes out of his mouth. Not sure how their playing group even trusts him 😂

    • Killing it Cap maybe some of our fans will see the gravity and reality of how and what we are as a behind the scenes we are a joke.

I honestly think that when we changed coaches the thought process as well anyone was better than the last guy yet the circus behind the scenes is still there. How is any coach supposed to come in and win with the above mentioned in place.

Dead right we got played our front office don't know how the games played and don't wield the influence that Gus and alike have.I love the guy I no if the shoe was on the other foot we'd be praising his feats.Purely because he knows how to play the game our jokers do not.

      • We hire players like we're hiring an accountant. A job interview or two, a fair market price offer.....why would anyone turn that down? Meanwhile our competitors are bringing in billionaires with promises of access to investments, assurring players of access to rep honours through their networks, a TPA or two. The Head of Football also plays games in the media to throw everyone off the scent.
We're at home waiting for the phone to ring, whilst our prospect is being wined and dined and promised the world. "Why can't I find anyone to love me?"

        • Mutts, for all we know the Galvin + Dogs deal may have been done over a year ago.  The dogs probably hired the Westfield's high coach , knowing that would seal the deal with Galvin. No matter what Parramatta would have done, we were never an option

          • If that were the case why bother putting your hat in the ring.

Its been no secret his ex coach has been at the Dogs if it's like you say chief why did Parra waste there time.

We're we naïve to think JR was getting him across the line or something 😂
