Ken Sio has copped a bunch of criticism from many folk on here, so I think he should get a wrap for his two-try effort today. His first was an absolute specialist wingers try - similar to the one in Mudgee - but this time with a wet ball, and he showed his pace by not getting run down by Hunt on the intercept, who has plenty of toe. He also did some tidy work, turning very quickly to clean up a couple of kicks put in, in behind him. (And wasn't it, Andrew Everingham, who came in right off his wing that opened up that first try for Sio? I couldn't help but find that ironic)
As I've said repeatedly, Sio is an absolute class finisher. He just happens to be in the unfortunate position of being in a side where our wingers tend to have to do far more defensively than they do in attack. If Sio was playing for any of the top four teams, he's be bagging tries at will.

Hopefully we'll have two top class kickers and passers in the #6 and #7 next year in Norman and Hayne to give more opportunities to Sio.
Yes credit when credit is due. Well done Kenny
+100. you don't see finishers like Sio everyday. The tackling and positioning will come when he adjusts fully to "NRL speed".
I'm pretty sure Steve Renouf couldn't tackle to save himself for the first 3 or 4 years of his career. Then suddenly, he worked it out.
I agree, ken tries his heart out, time will tell if he is up to the 1st grade gig, but well done Ken, he has plenty of good aspects to his game, good game today and i hope in the future he can make a good fist of it.
Yeh, I agree that needs work, but I think he'll get that. He's got ample co-ordination, so I think it's just a confidence issue. I was actually hoping they'd kick their high balls to Sio today. That's either because I'm getting more confidence in that facet of his game, or else our other options were even worse. A combination of the two. Actually, I thought Wiliame played ok too, for a kid with his level of experience.
Hi 1eyed, I am not a fan of Sio but I have to agree that the first try that he scored was excellent & showed great skill in getting the ball down in the corner with only inches to work in. His second try was really opportune however to his credit, it was because he did stay out wide that he was in a position to capitalise on Reynolds error.
He is definitely a strong runner of the ball & a great finisher in attack however my criticisms relate to his poor defence.
Hahahahaha look at everyone praising Sio now after this game. You guys are grade A hilarious material.
Its just credit where credit is due. Bag him when he plays crap but give him credit when he does well. Its just fair.
Ken Sio is a top notch finishing winger, you give him half a chance and he takes advantage of it. He reminds me of Nathan Merrit the way he always finds his way to the try line.
