Game day blog - Eels vs Dragons

With a return to BankWest Stadium today, the eels will be hoping that their form from the last time they played there returns. It’s the return of Dozey Norman who has been in one of his rare short bursts of form and will be trying to prove pushing him out was a mistake. We all know that regardless of what happens today, it was good to see the back of him and we won nothing while he was here.

I reckon their big forward pack will smash ours and McGinnes will show his best. Sims to have a big game and Vaughn to push for origin selection.

I have a bad feeling about this game after our pathetic showing last week.

  • If my memory serves me correct the Dragons have rarely beaten eels past few seasons and after our great first new home ground performance a fortnight ago  then the odds are in favour of a Parra win today . My gut feeling  is another thing however back home again , and with Saints experiencing a somewhat unfamiliar environment , we might get off to a better start than last week in Newcastle . So with points on the board and leading at half time we might hang on ?? Parra to win 24 to 18.

  • I think Parra will show that we are a different beast this year.last week we had no luck, this week the footy gods will be sprinkling fairy dust and unicorn shit down on Bank west .Parra 22-14

  • We need Kane to step and play like he was at the end of last year

  • Think  the fans give it all they’ve got in support today to urge the boys home. I’m  hoping Guth and the boys can step up from last week and set all the BS aside.

Go Guth show some of the poor fans with memory loss problems your true metal!

Lots of pressure to back up at Parra, if we want this to be our fortress we simply must have our biggest dig of the year here today win or lose

    • Start of the week i stated Dragons by 16, big, mobile forward pack and better spine, BUT and a big BUT if the Eels hit the ground running, MM has a good kicking game, kicks to the corners we will be in it.

Now thinking Dragons will win in a close one, our defence will stand up, but its our ability to put points on the score board worries me.

      GO YA MIGHTY EELS.

  • We need to show some intensity this week if we want to be in the game. We came out flat against the Knights, from the kick off we got absolutely smashed and that set the mood for the whole game.

  • I also dont thinkthe Eels will win this game (although hope Im wrong). Im beginning to think the Eels may actually need a new coach ( nothing against Arthur) but maybe just time for a change, with some fresh and innovative ideas! I think the Eels may heading for a slump again, but it would be good to be wrong.

    • I just herd on triple m that Paul Kent doesn’t gives us a hope, in fact will be toweled up big time, geez I hope he’s wrong.

  • I reckon we’re good things today. The new stadium has to be worth 10-12 points alone. I don’t think we were that bad last week and we’ll be up for this one. It’s amazing how much changes in a week. Gutho to score 2 tries-parra by 14

  • Go eels. Sick of anti parra options at work n frm friends. Make bankwest stadium a fortress.
