Wests Tigers young gun Lachlan Galvin will depart the club at the end of 2026 after knocking back an extension offer from the club.
The Wests Tigers last week presented the player with a lucrative multi-year deal, believed to be worth around $5 million over five years, in a bid to deter rival clubs who are circling around the boom 19-year-old five-eighth.
Galvin, however, has decided not to accept the club’s offer, signalling his desire to become a free agent. He told club officials he was happy at the Wests Tigers but wanted to keep his options open.
“We would like to announce that Lachlan Galvin will not be with the club beyond the 2026 season,” the statement said.

This shit is rediculous, as a club a players mind is out the door with 48 rounds of football plus finals to play on a contract.
The game is fueled by fans, how can you expect them to get on board with a bloke who's already out the door.
The clubs should be able to let them go early get the cap relief of their current contract plus 20 percent of the yearly contract amount they've on sold for added to their cap space the next year so they receive some compensation for the bollocks.
Agree, but the NRL is really being run by the players' union and their agents.
he is on 250k this year and 350k next year
If he signs for another club for a million the tigers would get $200k added to their cap, compensation for losing a player they developed who's decided to leave.
Everyone wins.
