      • Though, hindsight is wonderful, it seems Galvin wanted to go where winning is involved. He wanted to go to Penrith last year and was declined. Now is off to Canterbury on top of ladder.

      • they also thought they'd getting a bigger offer from Parra  good to see the club sticking to not paying overs

        • The club went back with a 2nd offer overs you say they offered 50-100 k more to try and get him over the line and he still went the other way to the Dogs.

      • They need to bang each other and get a room, Maybe vella can get a tattoo of Galvins initials on his schlooong.

      • And that's the whole point the chess move by the Dogs was identify who and put the pieces around there club to make it happen.

While Vella no doubt had a bearing the dogs had the nouse to get him in there to get Galvin over the line this is the point you and the club are missing chess not Chequers.

    • More so Coryn, we are going to have more a lot of money available to spend. Ryles will say who he wants, but i am also growing concerned more so we would not be able to get who we want with that money. We need to spend to get better, once we get better we attract more players but we are going to have money but do we have the people to bring them in? Ryles could be a draw but limited runs on the board to convince someone of his vision yet. The better we play, like last fortnight, the more convincing Ryles can be.

We are desperate for an iron fist to just rock cages of other clubs and be a prick pretty much. Too many nice guys just accepting what is going on with players. MON has got some good signings and had some players leave where situations out of our control or did what was best for the club, but we need big signings, we have the money to do so but can MON and co. get what Ryles wants and needs?

I have had concerns about the money they will have available for weeks now and have expressed them constantly. Do we get the right signings?

      • Ryles actually looks positive and refreshes the place he's made these current bums play better I actually think players will want to play for him, except vellas love crush.

      • 'Ryles will say who he wants, but i am also growing concerned more so we would not be able to get who we want with that money' - exactly LB, therein lies the issue.

None of us know whats really transpired here, but there is a history now of the Eels not able to land the more in demand players.

Maybe Galvin was never coming, but, there have been multiple cases like this, and questions of how the Eels are going about that process surely need to be asked.

Galvin specifically aside, It just doesn't look good that we are very publicly missing despite good $$ offers.

Lets hope there was a Plan C.

      • The only way out for us and we may have to accept this is our pathways with expansion happening in the next year or 5 the top tier talent will be stretched again. The only way out for us is our pathways. If I'm Parra for the long term good of the club I'm all in on junior coaches and juniors we have to build in conjunction with our new CoE thee best junior system in the comp.Look to out do Penrith and the Dogs but I just don't see it.It concerns me we aren't looking as wide afield as other clubs but the CoE is a start.

As for recruitment now much like our playing roster it needs to be upgraded it just does we need an influential figure in MoNs spot who has premiership winning experience and no how to build a winner. We have to get all the stuff behind the scenes in order also we can't be crying about the all these other clubs having this and that and we haven't got access to similar. This is what we have to have to compete on an even footing because as we are built right now forget about it.JR isn't doing it with out the above mentioned support he's just not.

Next 2 years are huge for this club if JR doesn't have the above mentioned he'll only get so far until that competitive advantage other clubs have will beat him down.
