I know the Eels official web site is based off the NRL site but I'm sure there is a lot more the media team could do to get fans onto the page. It really is the last place you look if you want to know whats going on with the team and club because it isn't updated very often. I don't expect them to put rumours up or announce player movement that isn't signed off but I would like a lot more than they currently provide. The Eels fans are a passionate bunch as seen by how much we interact on this site but some training shots once a week just doesn't cut it. 1Eyed Eel is certainly entertaining and although a lot of the blogs are rumours, it is fun and it helps get through the off season. It gives the fans an oppertunity to contribute in their own way while also having relationships with other fans and members in some capacity which is also pretty entertaining at times. TCC do a good job with training reports and even a few interviews but the club itself need to do more.
It just appears like the media team are ticking the box as far as the club website but with the worls being online the site needs to be something you don't open long enough to see that there is nothing to see.
I have put a couple of ideas for the site below but I'm sure many of you will have suggestions.
The club could put up photos of every training session with a bit of a write up without giving away certain things.
Players putting up videos talking about themselves and what they are up to.
Qustionnaires for the fans to get their views on certain aspects about the club.
Competitions for the fans to keep us all involed thought out the season and off season.
Even a members section to access all the extras.
I don't doubt others would of bought this topic up before but obviously nothing happened. Come on media team, Time to get on the bus.

The NRL's overall digital strategy is embarrassingly amateur, especially when you consider they supposedly spent $100m developing it.
Ahhhh Brett. The NRL doesn't have a digital team anymore. Nine and Fox got annoyed and told them to cut it.
The NRL's digital team was very good. They were breaking signing stories, their video content was of a better quality content-wise than both Nine and Fox given they discussed the footy. They had online breakdown shows with Matt Elliott and Anthony Seibold explaining how the game was played. Zac Bailey even won a couple of Australian Sports Media Awards for his work last year.
Then Nine and Fox, instead of upping their own game, whinged and complained and the NRL gutted almost its entire staff.
Ok
Loved watching Matt Elliott analysis of the game, the segment was great
yes he was good
That's why I was spewing when he signed with St. Merge. Elliott would've been great for BA.
What was Seibold like with his analysis. I am wondering whether their is a role for him to play somewhere still.
Decent, but he is an out and out assistant coach.
Seibold knows his stuff, but from watching him explain things live, he can't get a message across simply. Which makes him a good assistant in that he understands the game inside and out, but he includes too much detail for players to process.
Interesting guy's, I thought the Eels would have control over their site. Thanks for the info, it explains a bit now.
