Eels V Manly 3-2-1

What a game, one of our best this year. I found it hard to leave Junior , Rylie Smith (55 tackles and pressure on kicker) and Samrani out. But they were huge.

My picks go to

3 Points - Dean Hawkins - Stepped up  to lead the team around when others didn't.Kicking on point and 4 try assists. 635 kicking metres, 20 tackles and 2 line break assists.

2 Points- Iongi -  How good was he with speed, popping up on the edge causing havoc and his bomb difusuals were some of the best. Ran for 264 metres, 1 try, 70 post contact metres, zero missed tackles.

1 Point - Williams - what a workhorse, played 73minutes in the middle, 195m with 18 hitups, 79 post contact metres, 32 tackles.

    • Love it, Mick.

      Good to see you back.

    • Mick I think if we score Galvin and Dylan moves to centre. Our forwards stay healthy with maybe a mid season classy forward pickup from another club.Im on board your bus.

  • 3: The whole team

    2: JR & coaching staff

1: Parra fans for sticking in there

    • 💯 how good is it to see. Great things to come!!🤞

    • Your a good man Stevo. Cant win without all of the above.

  • Well, proven wrong, Papali'i i feel can be decent on the Wing. Kid is a goer.

    3 - Iongi

    2- Kautoga

    1 - Hawkins

    • I think he is more then a winger. He won't displace the fox or Lomax. Its a pleasant change to actually see the reggie's boys capable of playing first grade, unlike our last coach's squad.

  • 3.hawkins

    2.longi

    1.junior

  • Iongi - Hawkins - Williams - rest of team. Special mention Walker... I love his impact of the bench. Adds another dimension in attack and straightens the line.. 💙💛

  • 3 Hawkins

    2 Iongi

    1 Walker

Great all round team effort by all players and coaches.

Optimistic eel replied to Parra-all-the-way's discussion Could joash be our solution at 6?
"I think joash should definitely  be our utility  bench player giving speed to the ruck when fatigue sets in, a very capable player filling in anywhere in the backline if needed. I think walker should be our 13 with hopgood going to the middle…"

"100% Tracey and sexton are the two players that Gus is basically saying you aren't good enough. Imagine how they would feel and the playing group around them."

"Not saying last night was not a good win,  but if you look at it closely Jake at 7 was to slow as a link man and poor in ball playing and Turbo was also hampered so that cost Manly a few tries and gave the defense time......anyway just my thoughts…"

"I think getting him could potentially  de rail there season. They have built a "workman" class team lots of cheap signings etc now giving 750k to galvin there will be plenty of star players at that club not on anywhere near that $$ feeling…"
