GALVIN SHOCKS EELS

Lachlan Galvin’s decision to join Canterbury has gone down like a lead balloon with Sydney rivals the Eels.

Sport Confidential can reveal Parramatta bosses were supremely confident of securing Galvin and believed they had their man before being ambushed by the Bulldogs.

It is understood the Eels had tabled a multi-year, $1 million-a-season deal for Galvin to partner Mitchell Moses at the Parramatta scrumbase next year.

But the Wests Tigers young gun shocked the Eels by taking less to go to the Bulldogs.

Galvin’s management have been criticised for allegedly brainwashing the teenager but the 19-year-old made the call to reject Parramatta of his own volition.

        • I thought about this post Randoph with mixed emotions.

Couple of things come to mind, you are intelligent enough to write that "witty" prose and we all know you are very clever, except for people awareness in a number of things you say. Most of them are on here within the family so to speak and "ca lie vie" no harm done.

BUT it worries me about how it may appear to an outsider looking in, a family member, friend or even a 19 year old boy.

Taken out of the context of you being funny, I wonder on a social media report to the NRL saying how it could be described differently or alternatively.......scum is pretty insulting, rape is fun, fuckyou Galvin-scum.

I would be embarrassed as part of this site if that was quoted back in mainstream media, that this is the type of site we could be renowned for????????

Empathy is sometimes more important than tearing someone to shreds.

          • Nah Poppa, this is simply how I FEEL about things, bashed up and jammed into a tune.

It is quite offensive (I am tribally offended) , obviously non-factual (goulds whole arm would not fit up his ass) and was done because i did it....for shits and gigs, or because I sung it in my head unbidden...the "rape" was  in poor taste and not funny enough tp justify itself (wrote a funnier verse after i posted)....There is a reason that I just drop these things in the middle of comment threads.....However, i agree I need to better edit any future poetic-song styled input.

            Empathy?...lol and fucjk you, socio.

            • Good to see you aknowledge that it could be interpreted negatively for the site.

Personally I was not offended by it but that's why I thought about it, some people, maybe only a few that were close to the kid, could be quiet hurt by it. Mainstream media would murder it!

We come on here and play our games of blinds man buff, which is fine, but we don't need colateral damage. I have been here now for about 10 years and I know people who have been scared to post because they may be humiliated.

You can be a very intimidating poster for some people who aren't as intelligent as you are.

If I was in your position now I would delete the post and I am happy to delete mine.

Have another crack at it and make it genuinely funny, it may still work.

              • I am not going to have another crack at it.....It is the It...that's it, It's all it is...I had a crack at it, it's what IT is.

                Am I releasing it as a single...no

It is a glib attempt at humour, if in questionable taste...yes

I folks are offeneded, pile on right here. I will not reply aggressivily and I will listen.

I note Carlo has complaimed about using the word "rape" mindlessly.......Copy that, Carlo, I can stop doing that, even with the Dogs

                • If only you could use your intelligence for good.....you could be a Super Hero. (pun? I didn't intend it to be, but why not?)

  • Who cares?? It's overs for brat..are people seriously having a whinge??? It's blessing in disguise...get a drip! It's non story 😂

  • Honestly if this is true....we sure have grade A Dopes running recruitment... 1M for a 19 year old....cmon we can do better then that ...tehn again maybe not

    • Well we offered Blaise whatshisface 5 or 550k wasn't it ? And the kids fucking useless. Is it really that far a fetch to believe we offered Galvin a million ?  Not for a second.

Hope we didn't ?  Of course

Impossible we did ? History says it's very much possible.

      • JR reportedly spoke to both Blaise and Lachie and what he was selling went down the gurgler for better perceived options elsewhere.I hope this isn't a thing to come moving foward.

        • To give context to your story Coryn, Blaise left as he wants to play 5/8 and an opening for said position came up at the premiers. A club where he would play along Nathan Cleary. At the time Eels halves were locked up. It was a no brainer for him.

Galvins choices were heavily influenced by his former teacher, who no doubt had been in his ear for a long time.
Galvins decision to go to a team in premiership window would have been an easy sell. Gus would have also be organised 3rd party payments at the Bulldogs.

The club deserves to cop a lot of flack for certain things, but Ryles doesn't deserve the narrative you're trying to sell there.

Looking at it, until the Eels start using 3rd part payments Ryles will struggle against certain clubs in trying to influence high profile players.

I think Hopgood is just overplaying his hand this year - the change of coach and style was always going to take longer to gel for some. He's too talented not to come good…"

"Yes, you cannot argue with that Cappy.....lets hope Ryles can be in that position in the future.
Interesting sidelight, Carildo has had two seasons of failure  before his tide had turned. Ryles is maybe ahead of schedule....."
