Apparently the case today has been delayed due to Parramatta and Melbourne engaging in deep talks to get a deal done. Negotiations had ran overnight. What is hilarious is people on social media believe Parramatta know they will lose so are making a deal. Ummmm no this is the NRL not wanting to be involved and not wanting their stuff leaked so the heavies are on Melbourne to get something done.
The rumour at the moment is it could be a three way trade. Jesse Ramien's name has been floating around as Cronulla want cap space in order to front load contracts for next year. One rumour suggested Melbourne would get both Lomax and Ramien, therefore Melbourne would be more open to releasing a player if they get two. Now could that be for example Howarth since Ramien will be one Centre? Maybe but it seems a deal could be struck at the 11th hour.
A separate report also suggests the call from Parra for Lomax not to play Round 1 could still be on table.

In breaking news, Parra has knocked back the 200k and settled on 150k instead.
In all seriousness, we have a plethora of forwards and don't need anymore especially a dud like Blore.
It has to be a quality outside back or nothing.
Is it Blore or Bore
Storm (and NRL) are desperate to keep this out of court, hence the last minute negotiations. I'm confident that the Eels Barrister is sitting on a goldmine of incriminating evidence that the Storm (and NRL) absolutely do not want coming out into the public domain.
I predict there'll be a deal done tomorrow morning before court. It may not be exactly a like-for-like exchange of value but it will be a good deal for the Eels. And the bonus is we'll have evidence in our back pocket if the NRL ever want to fuck with us in the future.
I reckon more NRL mutts. The shit that could come out.
I think that could happen but both players ineligible for Round 1.
NO deal, fuck them
I think a Storm player, Lomax and Ryan Matterson are all sleeping on their decisions tonight with answers due tomorrow.
I still can't believe the nrl are involved it's got nothing to do with them.
Its a contract dispute between Lomax and Parra firstly then Melbourne secondly.
I said this weeks ago if this goes bad for us it will be because the nrl gets involved.
This is just a toy throwing exercise from Lomax firstly and the cheap shot artist Melbourne ceo who lobbied PVL into this situation with txts that have been outlined in court documents.
I look at it from the other side if Melbourne were in the same position you think they'd let an international winger re enter the fray after plan A failed and give competitive advantage to another side for 300 k having the agreed release clause document we have fark off they would so why all of a sudden should we allow this to happen.
We want this in court unless what your giving up is something that allows you the same sought of competitive advantage your giving up into court we go.
Most probably be Cap relief and transfer fee, player swap unlikely.
Cap relief would be an unfair advantage the NRL would be giving Parra over the other 15 clubs. I highly doubt that's something the NRL should or would give
Right and why would we accept that now? Why go through subpoenaing the NRL to accept what Melbourne originally offered?
