Dylan Brown

Not sure if his being too respectful staying at a club till the end that gave him everything or his heart isn't in it for Newcastle couldn't blame the kid though. Was a great deal and set for life.

No chance would happen would you have him at Parra again if things don't work out but in the centres. Do a better job the Russell or Penensi

  • About that deal, Munster took less to stay at the Storm, rather than go to the Dolphins. Dylan already had his future set up with the contract he had at Parra, but chose to take the Knights deal over any loyalty to the club. A lot of what he is being paid now and in the future is on what we and the Knights think he will become, not what he is now.

Don't know about you, but I'm tired of waiting for him to become that player we thought he would be years ago. It's the Knights problem now, and I doubt we see much of him back in grade, unless there is an injury.

I like the guy, but he isn't part of the future. Ryles is showing everyone he has a big set in his pants by dropping him.

  • The Newcastle offer was irresponsible and put Dylan in a position where he had no other choice.

Where he had the choice was whether or not he went to market and opened himself up to the irresponsible offer in the first place. He was on a deal that was more than fair , at a club moving into a new era with him as a key part of it , and he hadn't lived up to his contract since signing it.. still he chose to put himself up for sale to see what else was out there as hes entitled to do.  Good luck to him, I have no hard feelings towards him. I also don't think he has the energy , enthusiam , vision or smarts to become an elite player. At his best he is a compeitior . He can be easily distracted and seems to get in his own head.. the Newcastle offer distracted his focus and  contributed greatly to a ruined this season for him .. I don't see being the highest paid player in the comp in new surrounds going great for him but its not our problem.

He re-sgned with us after the season in 2022. Got himself rubbed out for 1/3rd of 2023 at a key part of the season, was dreadul in 2024 and put himself in the shop window to start our Ryles era and dragged it out into the start of the season. Every move we make has to be about us as his moves have also been all about him.

    • One of your best posts right there Snottie.

Dyaln should also have never been in a position to take offers , that's on Mark O'Neil.

Anyway he is not our future anymore.

      • To be fair, if we had signed him til 2031 with no options on big coin, and he continued to play at his current level, the fans would burn the joint to the ground. On the contrary, if we only offered him a 3 year deal in 2022, who knows if he signs and stays anyway. I agree with Snottie, the club is better off without him in the long term, albeit we do need a suitable replacement.

  • This would never happen.  Centre?  He's on 1.4 million.  He'll play reserve grade if he has to

  • Dylboobs found his Alan Bond. Good luck to him.

I feel that his time at Newy will end in tears though.

    • I don't see him making it 5 years. Give it 3 years and I reckon he'll end up at the Warriors on a cut-price deal.

  • He's not our problem yet here we are still giving it the time of day.

What we should be talking about is the plan around replacing him and who that maybe.

    • Haven't seen them play are those guys in SG  got a promising future or just like any first grader talent only goes so far once you hit first grade completely different game then judge if they make it

  • No way in hell he over rated now over payed i wouldn't hsve Dylan playing for us even he was playing for free

When he retires he wil be not a has been he be a never was

    Dylan not a NRL  player

Thank you Newcastle for taking him i cant thank you enough
