DOES PARRAMATTA ACTUALLY NEED GALVIN?

I actually hope Parramatta don't get Galvin as what he will cost does not match the talent he will bring.

Between Longi and Papalia we have a 6 and a 1 who will take far less money out of the cap and  if I had to choose between Galvin as a player and Longi as player id take Longi 100% , this kid is all class in everything he does.

Galvin has proved zero and to pay a kid 700k + who has done zero is a huge risk because he could easily become another Dylan Brown , Parramatta need to stop paying big dollars for potential because as a club we have had no luck in this department. We need at least one top shelf centre and a few top shelf to medium shelf forwards and not a kid who has proven very little .

History has shown for decades that Parramatta do not have much luck when it comes to paying big money for players from others clubs , Parramatta have  succees when they develop their own juniors or buy good young players from others clubs on the cheap end develop them.

Galvin is a 400k player at best and not a cent more , Parramatta need to get back to what has given them success in the past and paying big money for purely potential has failed most of the time for Parramatta .

  • He's going to be the best player in the game one day. He's worth the money they are talking about if it's a longer term deal. But that's just my opinion.

  • If we get him good but hopefully at the right price if not then no big loss IMO.   He can be this quazi 6/7 at the dogs with burton.  We can continue our development within.   In any case our 1.7.9 are far better then the dogs.     I agree the dogs will be smoked at the end of season in the big games like N QLD in 2022

  • I hope we don't get him. To be honest I think he is over rated. Think he is a sooky little bitch.

  • Some good points you've raised but not all 100% accurate. The Eels have purchased some good players over the years and have also produced some good juniors as well. The positive thing about Galvin is he's young and if information is correct he wants to play for the Eels! If he decides to go with the Bulldogs then so be it but I think he's better suited for the Eels as what Ryles is doing is extremely positive and will produce great results. There is no reason why Galvin, Iongi and Papalli can't all be in the same 17 moving forward. Galvin will be a great fit at the Eels more than at the Bulldogs. I can't see him being happy at the Bulldogs

  • I think he the player we been waiting and looking and need i hope we get him but you are wright he not worth that but that what he wants that what he gets and i hope it from us

  • Papali is a talent and hope we find a fit for him in the future. Would he make a six, I couldn't say at this point in time. 14 maybe.

1 major difference between Galvin and Brown is, apparently Galvin is a footy fanatic. I've heard he watches and studies most games.  I heard an interview with Brown a few years ago and he said that he never watches rugby league other than in video sessions at training. The players that spend their time studying the game are the ones that strive to improve their own game, the others are happy to just plod along.

Going by the small sample size I've seen of Galvin, with the right coaching and without serious injuries I think he will become one of the best players in the game. His skill level combined with his confidence and work ethics (from what has been reported) makes me confident Galvin will become great. Only time will tell.

  • Remember what Moses did too, he returned back home from the tigers. Imagine Galvin coming back and learning from Moses whilst increasing his skill.
