So Brown had the chance to leave early and go start his career at the Knights, and in return we would have saved a bit of his money or maybe nabbed another player.

But he decided against that idea and chose to stay and fulfil his contract, basically saying he'll play in whatever position is needed to help out the team.
Seems like Parra have a lot of selfish players on their books worried about themselves.

Question is who benefits from this Brown or Parra? Just a simple one word answer will do.

      • That's very fair, LB. Good points.

KPP for a year would've been handy? Hasn't he signed with Tigers? But I do agree with you, this isn't SuperCoach, unfortunately.

In the Eels defence, they may have expected more from DB's form in 2025 also which would've made holding make more sense. He was great in 2024, and this year, imo, has been his worst in first grade.

The whole things just been a mess LB. Maybe no ones fault, but frustrating for fans.

        • I feel awful going against you NOS 😂😂😂 feels wrong.

          • Hahaha why? You are too nice LB... And you are 100% correct! We don't know the ins & outs, and it's easy to say 'player swap' but maybe that wasn't possible. Plus I've got a lot wrong with Dylan Brown in 2025, this year he's been awful, in the early rounds he really surprised me with how poor he was mentally. I trust you're probably spot on, a swap wasn't available.

Great blog about Hopgood too, haven't had a chance to reply yet but will. Have to support the blog writers.

    • Excactly what I said the club made the call..

    • That's 90 words, you're banned NOS...cool

      • Bahahaha probably for the best, MeelK. I'll take a seat. Thankyou.

  • I mean more so himself as I believe the reason he decided to stay was to avoid the media talk and expectations straight away with no pre-season at the Knights.

Though many here that argue Parra should have just get him to leave really don't understand how it works. You need both player and club (Newcastle) agreement to do that. Or there can be suing happening as there is a contract in place:

  • Who said that Newcastle could accommodate him this year under their salary cap? Last I knew they couldn't.

  • Lol he under contract so what. He gone for the money & maybe he wants to play with his mates. Who cares!

    • I don't see him playing just dancing at the start and end of games likes being a NRL player.
