Conflict of interest

So how do you manage a perceived possible conflict of interest with club decisions 🤔

a coach has more than one child coming through the junior ranks ....... we have seen coaches with one like Cleary or Flanagan

what about two 🤔what processes are in place to see retention and promotion are fair and just

I see some difficulties

  • BA doesn't head recruitment. That's Mark O'Neill's job. You think O'Neill is going to put his own job in jeopardy to prioritise the coach's son?

    • But the coach picked him 7 times. How strange.

    • His choices were JA or WS .

      • And it was reported at the time , the senior players indicated they wanted Jake over Will. Go figure.

        • At that stage of the year JA could've been the hottest young prospect in the game, the BA hate had so much momentum the kids positives were always going to be overlooked.

Apparently if we played Will Bloody Smith instead of JA we'd have beaten Many , South's and Penrith .we should be sending Moses to the Goldy and keeping Will.

          • I reckon me might have won a couple of those games had we had a decent half and not the teachers son :)

I agree , but what about with Will Smith ? Or even Moses for that matter ?

              • Dunno - maybe we would have with Smith. I saw nothing, as in absolutely nothing, from Arthur to make me think he could get the job done. I don't see a future NRL half there (just my opinion of course).

I saw a team that was totally woeful while he was there. I don't understand what happened there but discontent can produce those sort of results. Something was wrong and the fact that the coaches not-ready-for-NRL son was being persisted with is a very concievable cause of such a dramatic slide. Maybe if Smith was there the team, as a team, would have performed better.

I heard a story about Arthur not wanting to pick him but the players and other coaching staff wanted him so BA said "fine, you make the selection". What a load of bullshit - as if any NRL coach operates like that.

I don't like JA as the #1 back up seven. I just don't reckon he's anywhere near up to it - not even close. Obviously I hope I'm wrong.

                • You are definitely not wrong Kram in my humble opinion  Was having a very close look at him when we were allowed with our membership to watch him for a few games in Regs at bankwest and always was scratching the old nogin and thinking whats all the hype about him he was shit in every game I watched .when he was selected in first grade my humble opinion did not change

                • You missed my joke Krames..
