  • I think there's your answer to the 5/8 2026

    • Not exactly. Samrani re-signed does that mean he is our Centre moving forward. Papali'i would be playing 6 if that is the case i reckon.

    • If that's the case based on what we've seen he's not the answer. Unless he starts to brain it, I just can't see him making that jersey his.

  • Good re-signing. We are building up a very good NSW Cup squad with all these currently fringe first graders.

    • Exactly.  And yet you watch the excitement and slaps on the backs we will witness on this thread in the coming hours.  Our answer to not being able to land a big trophy fish seems to be spending our cap on a whole lake of mullet.

" we are building nicely " should be the site's permanent banner.

      • All hail Jim Sarantonis and Mark O'Neill , the club is destined for greatness with these two .  At any other club these two people don't have a job , but at Parramatta we are special and thrive on having bottom of the barrel people running things .

        • Patience Frankie & Wiz, we are building. Nothing against the signing, I like the kid, but not sure what the plan would be or how he will be utilised. Don't know about 5/8... almost seems a bit like a Talagi situation - trying to get him to fit a position he isn't ideally suited to.

          • Good point on 5/8 Seraph. He earlier on in the year was playing too good to keep out but Iongi was playing well too so where do you put him? Train him into a role that he needs to learn on top of learning to play NRL. I never fully bought Ryles being interested in playing Papali'i at 5/8. He used him v Gold Coast as a place holder having nobody else really and he did a basic job, enough to get the win.

    • Yet people complain we have no depth. Depth is usually NSW Cup quality players.

      • This year's FG team regularly has several depth players.

Looking forward to seeing what our "war chest" is going to do to get FG regularly into the pointy end of the comp.

Are we just going to give our juniors a shitload to stay a few years or actually buy a select few very good players in positions we are lacking?

"I would go Haas too. Different styles of Prop really. Both impactful but Haas is in his own way. Tino ain't going to make 25-30 metre linebreaks. "

"For us, we could actually afford Tino and still get a decent 6. Even if you go say Pezet, you can afford Tino. Though feel he would be going to Perth to be fair. Or Dogs."

"If it was a case of Jnr leaving and Tino taking over it would make sense. Tino would be awesome for on and off field. But I agree you can't have so much money in the front row. "

"Carrigan, though not as good as Tino is the next tier down and not far off. He would be cheaper as well."
