13211346693?profile=RESIZE_710xChief's Training Updates: It's Not Sixties, It's Better.

Absentees: The Fox, Ritchie Penisini, Dylan Brown and Bailey Simonsson still aren't training with the full squad.

Overall, there's a great comradeship within the team. The Fox although doing lighter activities, was highly vocal.

Ritchie Penisini is a monster and highly athletic 👻. If he can get his body right and play a decent chunk of football,  he'll be in first grade without a doubt.

There's some very quick, elusive and fit guys in the lower grades mixing it up with first grade squad, which bodes well for the future.

New Signing Jordan Samrani , the former Bulldog and Shark who was in the future Blues' Squad a few year ago (see above), is a big boy.

Hopgood is back after his back surgery.  He's in full training and hitting hard.

Matterson and Penisini outlasted everyone in the tackling drill. The whole top 30 gathered around the pair at the end shouting  one more, one more. And then Penisini absolutely charged at Matterson full pelt,  with the hit being game standard. In the background, all the fans in attendance cheered them on.

Ryles is very hands-on and involved in every facet whether in be attack or defence. He was always in there giving players tips.

He was very big on defence - focusing on hitting and driving back with a big emphasis on wrapping up the ball.  They spent 20 minutes on wrapping the ball and wrestling the attacking player down ,  one on one and two on ones. And the hits weren't for the faint hearted: They were around 80% game standard.

Also, I don't know who this player in the yellow is (above), but he's the fittest at the club at the moment taking over from Guth. He consistently beat everyone in the 200m runs.

PS: Sixties,  I'm coming for ya😆.

      • He did get a injury very late in the season, let's hope that's the reason.

    • He was on Tonga duties, Lomax and Moses have same amount of time off too. Yea he didn't play but still had to be conditioned and be ready. He didn't get a break so now is his break.

Nothing to it, he's back alongside Moses and Lomax.

  • Excited to watch Richie progress this year. Big and athletic back that could be anything.

I am nearly as excited to watch the cup team go around this year as I am the first grade team.

The battle for #14 will be very interesting, Joash, Ronald or Riley could all become great impact players.

  • 😂😂

  • Thanks chief. Was AMS there? Be interested to see if ryley holds the yellow shirt once Lomax comes back.

    • Yes he was there. I think with the wet conditions a couple of players like Addo-Carr and Ritchie Penisini who were coming back from injury, were not included in the intensive training drills.  They did train though.

      • Thanks chief.  Dylbags looks to have bulked up.

  • Thanks Chief.  Great review. I sense some excitement from you mate. It's contagious!

  • Dude in the yellow is Angus Chrichton's long lost twin
