Essentially as title states. Call me a negative sort of gent, but im happy our man moses hasnt played a game over there, less chance of him getting hurt and missing pre-season for the blue and golds. Good experince for him, and assuming he will get paid well enough for the experience as well?

Of course it is a silent political statement. What's wrong with that? It is not like they are singing the wrong words or flopping their dick out when it's playing. Refusal is valid. We do not need to walk in lockstep to walk together as Australians.
God Save the Queen
Thank you for your AtteNtIoN to this matter
We do not need to walk in lockstep to walk with each other and be Australians. Exactly right but we do need to respect each other's beliefs of what it means to be Australian. I'm just so sick of people pushing their own agendas in this area. The fact is that we have Australians whose ancestors came there thousands of years ago, and Australians who came here over the last few years. They are all just as Aussie as everyone else. If people don't want to sing their own anthem, well that's just sad for them really. Nothing to get too upset by however.
In 1974 the 3 options were God Save the Queen, Advanxe Australia Fair (written by a Scotsman) and Waltzing fucking Matilda....we almost had an anthem about a drifter who was hungry and killed a sheep to eat. The sheep was owned by a rich pastoralist who, unlike everyone else, could get immeadiate action from Police. When cornered our hero swaggy chooses suicide over capture.
I see our freedoms as Freedom From not Freedom To...fFeedom From Religion...Freedom from Persecution for dissenting... Freedom from Forced Participation other than actively reqd by law (eg voting, conscription) Freedom from racial discrimination.
Nth Korea are highly unified and super patriotic....it must be nice. I do as I please within the law(mostly) and the expectations of my loved ones. I give no fucks what my "fellow australians" think about it. It is quite literally none of their business how i conduct myself within the law. If it hurts their feelings that's on them. Ther expectations on whether to, say, sing an anthem means less than nothing to me. They need to adjust their expectations because I have Freedom from their expectations
We should not deify things like our Anthem and Flag. My grandfather fought for Aust in PNG in ww2 under under the Union Jack and the Austraian Red Ensign. In later conflicts our Diggers fought together under our flag...not for it (Diggers fight for the man next to them. It's how we punch above our weight). No-one sang Adv Aust Fair in a Foxhole. Ideologically, Diggers fought for Freedom from Foreign Oppression, not a flag or song. Anzac Day is a close to sacred as we get as a nation because they paid the price for us to maintain our individuality
For the record I sing it loud and proud and it gives me a fuzzy. I also lift my gaze while i sing it so I wouldn't know and don't care what others are doing.
Even if he wanted to he couldn't as his fellow blacks would label him an Uncle Tom.
Fellow Black's (not sure that is a good description) may not be the advocates of Uncle Tom, which again is a mischeifious description, you sit out in your right wing perch and keep strirring the same pot. What do you add to the discussion in doing so?
My feeling if you are new to the country but a nationalised Australian, you express your loyalty to the country you serve. When you had to became nationalised you swore allegience !! See my last paragraph for the alternatives and your hipocrisy.
I think anyone born here as Australian has the same responsibility, ie be loyal to your country and I don't care if you are black, white, neapolitan, asian or come from Mars....we have plenty of opportunities to critique government both past and present, but they technically were put there under a system that maybe not perfect, but CAN ANYONE CHOOSE A BETTER PLACE to live?
If you are new and don't like it, then simply fuck off, we don't want you on the basis you don't like it or us.
My guess is and I am going to believe that JAC simply does not know the words, by playing for his country then he is demonstrating loyalty, if he doesn't realise that then he is just another stupid person, God knows we have plenty!
I'm glad for us Moses did not play but in all honesty 3 games from Cleary prove to me he is not the #1 half in the game and in fact Dearden did more in the 3 games than Cleary did. Of course commentators and journalists won't say enough about it but geez Cleary was ordinary
You know GL that Moses and Brown get described that way 50% of the time because their critics know no better.
You can only play as well as the opposition lets you but in cases like Cleary being quiet as you describe it can only because he is not given the ball as demanded. The halfback runs the game, in rep games the hooker tends to be the one because of their overpowering role playing dummy half. You see/saw it with Cameron Smith and now Grant.'
One of the reasons Mahoney left Parra was either him or Moses goes, Mahoney kept over calling him.
Not sure about the NSW situation but I suspect Maguire told the hooker that Moses runs the game and you saw the results.
I am not defending Cleary as much as explaining why this happens, Cleary was just as bad with Moses as his 5/8. Would not bring him into the game alternatively Luai comes in and gets the ball spoon fed to him.
